The Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Anthony Ajewole, has made a strong case for the re-election of the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo.

In an editorial titled “Retention of Office is a Function of Performance: Hon. Wale Raji Anomo Deserves a Second Term,” Ajewole highlighted Anomo’s numerous achievements since assuming office in 2021.

Ajewole noted that Anomo’s performance has surpassed expectations, despite initial doubts about his ability to deliver due to his background as an educationist. He praised Anomo’s leadership style, which prioritizes the welfare of workers, recognition of traditional institutions, and infrastructure development.

The APC Secretary listed several achievements, including:

– Education Sector:
    – Construction of a block of 3 classrooms at LG primary school, Otta – Ikosi
    – Construction of a block of 3 classrooms at LG central primary school, Agbowa
    – Construction of a block of 3 classrooms at RCM primary school, Itokin
    – Construction of a block of 3 classrooms at RCM primary school, Ejinrin
    – Distribution of 800 JAMB forms since 2021
    – Presentation of #250,000 scholarship Award to SOFIA MOHAMMED, winner of 2021 Lagos State Annual Spelling Bee competition (Primary school category)

– Health Sector:
    – Construction of a 24 beds PHC with staff quarter at Itokin through the Association of Local Government of Nigeria
    – Facilitation and payment of surgeries of some Residents with fibroid and spermatocele
    – Acquisition of 2 Ambulances to serve as mobile clinic
    – Distribution of 700 eye glasses to Residents through the Jigi Anomo Alafia Tayo Health Initiative

– Works & Infrastructure:
    – Ongoing construction of road with concrete drainage and Sola street lights at Lagbeja – Agric road, Itokin
    – Construction of standard bore-holes equipped with power generators in different locations across the 6 wards in the LCDA
    – Grading of 30 earth Roads in selected communities across the 6 wards
    – Ongoing construction of road at Samson Adeniyi street, Agbowa

– Rural Electrification:
    – Procurement of brand new 500KVA transformer for Ketu-Ereyun community
    – Electricity intervention grant of five million (#5,000,000) to assist communities with transformer challenges
    – Procurement of 500 KVA transformer for Oke – Osho community
    – Installation of solar street lights in identified black spots at Itoikin community

– Tourism & Culture:
    – Annual support for community Day Celebrations of different communities (e.g., Ejinrin, Itoikin, Agbowa Day, Owu – Ikosi Day)
    – Annual support of Eibi festival in different communities
    – Sponsoring of special coverage and publicity on tourism sites in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA

– Agriculture, Security, and Community Development:
    – Distribution of essential farm tools to members of AFAN Ikosi-Ejinrin chapter
    – Distribution of fishing Nets to farmers
    – Sponsoring of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA farmers to annual World Food Day Celebration
    – Recruitment, Restructuring, and Equipping of Ikosi-Ejinrin local security outfit known as GBALULE

– Environment:
    – Clearing of refuse at identified black spots across the LCDA
    – Clearing of overgrown road verges
    – Distilling of drains in communities to avoid flood

– Secondary School Support Initiative:
    – Grading of school/installation of 2.5 HP submersive pumping machine at Temu community secondary school
    – Employment of NON-pensionable staff to support effective administration in some secondary schools
    – Purchase of 2,200 liters Water Tank for Community Junior Hugh School, Agbowa

Ajewole concluded that Anomo’s achievements have earned him a second term, stating, “If Anomo is given a second term, he will turn Ikosi-Ejinrin into an investors’ paradise.”

He also appealed to the people of Epe to address the power outage issue, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in solving community problems.

“I have no doubt in my mind that if Anomo is given a second term, he will turn Ikosi-Ejinrin into an investors’ paradise. We thank God for giving us such a man with unequalled and unparalleled administrative prowess. May Allah continue to guide and protect him to pilot the ship of the LCDA to a safety shore,” Ajewole
