In a bid to ensure that quality healthcare services are accessible to all residents of Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Executive Chairman, Barr. Alabi Kolade David, aims at having health centers in the 8 Wards of Bariga LCDA. With the goal of leaving no ward behind, the Chairman’s team took media representatives on a tour to showcase the ongoing healthcare projects, highlighting the progress made so far and the vision for a healthier Bariga community.

During the tour, Hon. Modiu Olatilewa, Supervisor for Health in Bariga LCDA, provided insight into the projects aimed at establishing comprehensive health centers in all eight wards of the LCDA.

At Ashogbon Primary Health Center, construction and expansion work is nearing completion, with a capacity for 12 beds, a lab, delivery room, and general ward. The center will operate for 12 hours daily.

Olatilewa highlighted the LCDA’s goal of having a health center in each ward, with three nearing completion and plans for three more. He mentioned the Oloja PHC, a 15-bed capacity facility that will operate 24 hours, including a resident doctor, staff quarters, pharmacy, lab, delivery room, and theater. The Adeleye Primary Health Center, a Mother Clinic, is also under construction, accommodating 12 beds and featuring a pharmacy, consulting room, and labor room.

The Supervisor emphasized the Chairman’s commitment to completing the projects within a short period, with the aim of commissioning the health centers by December. The LCDA plans to have three hospitals operating 24 hours, including CMS, Oloja, and another to be announced.
