Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo (OGA), Chairman of the House Committee on Overseas Investments and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), distributed GCE forms to students in Ikorodu Constituency 1. The gesture is part of his efforts to promote education and empower young minds in his constituency.

According to Hon. Adetokunbo, the distribution of GCE forms marks the first step in preparing students for higher institution. He emphasized the importance of education, stating that it is the bedrock of societal development, the key to unlocking individual potential, and the driving force behind innovation and progress.

“Education is the most powerful tool we can use to transform our society,” Hon. Adetokunbo said. “It equips us with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to succeed in life. It helps us develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills, making us more competitive in the global market.”

Hon. Adetokunbo urged the beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity, stressing that education is a lifelong investment that yields immeasurable returns. He encouraged them to study hard, be curious, and strive for excellence, saying, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

OGA noted that last year, he provided GCE forms to 100 indigent students of Ikorodu constituency 1, and majority of them are now excelling in various higher institutions. “I am proud to see the impact of our efforts,” he said. “These students are a testament to the fact that with the right support, our young people can achieve greatness.”

He also charged the students to make Ikorodu proud by being good ambassadors of the community. “As you pursue your academic dreams, remember that you carry the name of Ikorodu with you. Make us proud by excelling in your exam and becoming responsible citizens,” he said.
