
In a bid to uplift the socio-economic status of its residents, the Surulere Local Government, led by Executive Chairman Hon. Bamidele Sulaimon, empowered over 650 individuals with various items and training. The empowerment program, which marks the administration’s three years of transformative service delivery, aims to alleviate poverty and promote economic growth.
The items distributed include deep freezers, generators, industrial sewing machines, financial grants, and more. This initiative demonstrates the Chairman’s commitment to the welfare of Surulere residents, earning him the nickname “Mr. Welfare.”
In his speech, Hon. Sulaimon reiterated his dedication to easing the socio-economic situation of the people, promising that such programs will continue, he expressed pride and joy in the achievements of his administration, citing infrastructure, education, healthcare, sports, welfarism programs, others that have positively impacted lives.
Hon. Sulaimon reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of Surulere residents, stating that supporting businesses and trades creates a ripple effect of prosperity benefiting the community. He assured the continuation of such programs, especially with financial autonomy.
He thanked dignitaries for their support, He urged beneficiaries to utilize the provided equipments and resources to grow businesses, create jobs, and contribute to the community’s economic growth.
The event was attended by dignitaries from federal, state, and local Government’s, including State party chairman, Hon Cornelius Ojelabi, Commissioner for local government and chieftancy matters, Hon Robert Bibire, House of Rep member Surulere Constituency 2, Hon Arc Okunlola, SA Housing to the Governor, Hon Barakat Odunuga, Chairman local government service Commission, Hon Kamal Baiyewu, Surulere APC Chairman, Hon Sherif Balogun and a host of other important and special dignitaries gracing the occasion.
