
The Lagos Ministry of Transportation and LASWA are launching the Omibus Pilot Program on July 29th, aiming to transform waterway commuting in Lagos. The week-long program will test Omibus ferries, collect essential data, and raise public awareness about the future of waterway transportation in Lagos.
The pilot program schedule includes:
Morning Trips:
– Ikorodu – Ebute Ero – CMS: 7:00 AM departure from Ikorodu
– Ikorodu – V.I (Addax) – Falomo: 7:00 AM departure from Ikorodu
– Badore – V.I (Addax) – Falomo: 7:00 AM departure from Badore
Evening Trips:
– CMS – Ikorodu: 4:30 PM departure from CMS
– Falomo – Ikorodu: 5:30 PM departure from Falomo
– Falomo – Badore: 5:30 PM departure from Falomo
Commuters can experience the Omibus ferries firsthand by tapping in with their Cowry Card. The program highlights include:
– Internationally recognized safety standards
– Comfortable and secure journeys
– Gathering feedback to refine services for the full launch
