In commemoration of his three years in office, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, has commissioned seven road projects aimed at improving the lives of residents and motorists in the area.

The projects, fully funded by the council, include five newly constructed roads in Mende – Abioye Street, Alade Street, Odugbesan Street, Atiba Osbourne Street, and Abbi Street – as well as Niyi Ogunleye Street in Ojota and Fedrick Ezenwezu Road in Ogudu.

Ogunlewe emphasized his commitment to serving the community, stating, “For me, it is rendering service to my people, and that is why we are here… I was elected to be their local government chairman, and this is what is expected from me.”

The chairman highlighted the significance of the projects, particularly the rehabilitation of Fedrick Ezenwezu Road, which now features interlocking to ensure durability and longevity.

Ogunlewe urged residents to take ownership of the constructed roads and ensure their proper use, emphasizing the government’s responsibility to provide basic infrastructure.

Reflecting on his tenure, Ogunlewe noted the completion of 10 boreholes, with plans to commence work on an additional 10, as well as the construction of 36 roads, with 11 more in the pipeline. He expressed his focus on improving roads in the Ifako and Oworo areas.

The chairman also appealed to Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, expressing optimism for future improvements.

“I’m so excited with the new road,” said Mrs. Adejoke Adeyemi, a resident of Mende. “The roads were in a terrible state before, but now they are smooth and safe to drive on. We commend Barr. Ogunlewe for his efforts.”

“We are delighted to see the transformation of our road through the efforts of our Chairman. The new roads will not only improved the aesthetic value of our area but it will make commuting easier and safer for residents.

As a CDA body, we have been advocating for better infrastructure, and we appreciate the Chairman’s response to our pleas.
