… Alayandelu donates land and Patrol vehicle to security agency

On Thursday, July 18, 2024, marked a significant milestone for the people of Odo-Ayandelu and Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) as the Executive Chairman, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an office complex to house a new formation of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the LCDA.

The ceremony was graced by several notable dignitaries, including HRM Oba Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu; HRM, the Olowu of Owu-Ikosi, Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari; Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro; Council Manager, Mr. Sunday Awobajo; Council Treasurer, Mr. Lawal Adeshina; Supervisor for Works, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Babatunde Yusuf; the Odo-Ayandelu council of chiefs; and the Commandant designated to head the Ikosi-Ejinrin formation, CSC Dada Omolola, among others.

In his address, Executive Chairman Akogun Wale Anomo expressed his gratitude for the support received from various stakeholders. He highlighted the significance of the project, emphasizing how it will enhance security, peace, and community development in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. Anomo extended heartfelt thanks to the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu for his unwavering commitment to the community’s progress. He also appreciated the NSCDC for recognizing Odo-Ayandelu and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA as suitable for having a formation and promised to give the project the needed attention in order for the security agency to commence full operation.

“The establishment of this NSCDC office complex is not just a construction project; it is a symbol of our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our residents,” said Anomo. “This initiative will instill confidence in prospective investors and residents, fostering an environment conducive to growth and development. With the arrival of the NSCDC collaborating with the Police, Nigeria Army, LNSA and Gbalule, we will have an enhanced security protecting lives and property.”

HRM Oba (Bldr.) Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe (JAMADE I) who donated the land upon which the edifice is being constructed echoed these sentiments, highlighting the project’s broad benefits which is not just for Odo-Ayabdelu Community but the entire Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and Lagos State in general. He expressed his gratitude to the NSCDC for granting Odo-Ayandelu the privilege of being the host to such an important security agency and also promised to donate a patrol vehicle to the corps once operation began. The monarch reassured the Commandant of the highly hospitable, peaceful, and cooperative nature of the people of Odo-Ayandelu which is evident from the community being the choice host to other important government projects like the LagosHoms and the permanent site of the NYSC.

The Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, commended both Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and Oba Asunmo Aderibigbe for being worthy collaborators, stating, “This new formation will strengthen our capacity to collaborate with other security agencies to maintain peace and security in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and other neighboring communities. We are committed to working closely with other security agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.”

The office complex will feature six administrative offices, two cells, an armory, and a general reception area, with ample parking space. This construction is a project of the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, aimed at bolstering the security infrastructure within the community.
