
Ibeju Lekki Local Government, in partnership with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), has disbursed the first tranche of Ten Million Naira loan and grant to beneficiaries. The ceremony, held on July 18, 2024, at the Council Secretariat.
Council Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, emphasized that economic empowerment is a key agenda of his administration. He noted that many businesses have closed due to financial constraints, and this intervention aims to support small businesses and lift people out of poverty.
Hon. Olowa advised beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously, as this will make them eligible for future loans and benefits. He thanked LSETF for their partnership and acknowledged the program’s potential to make a significant impact.
Other speakers, including the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, and the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Abisola Azeez, urged beneficiaries to be prudent and accountable.
The LSETF team head, Mr. Segun Ayodele, appreciated Hon. Olowa’s commitment to his people and called on beneficiaries to justify the opportunity.
The event was attended by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, members of the legislative council, traditional royal fathers, and other dignitaries.
