Atebo Yusuf Owolewa, popularly known as ‘Ayo nbo’ a contender for the Ikorodu Local Government Chairmanship position, under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) has outlined a comprehensive vision for the people of Ikorodu.

Atebo’s plans prioritize Poverty Alleviation, Healthcare Enhancement, Education Development, Infrastructure upgrade, Youth and Women Empowerment, demonstrating a profound understanding of the community’s needs.

Atebo stated “I am committed to addressing the basic needs of our people, rather than pursuing grandiose projects. We must focus on delivering tangible results that improve the lives of our citizens,” emphasizing the importance of a people-centered approach.

In the healthcare sector, upgrading existing facilities, leveraging the expertise of retired medical professionals, and providing laboratory equipment for affordable testing. “We must optimize our healthcare infrastructure and human resources to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for all,” he explained.

Atebo’s education plan includes establishing vocational centers within school premises, reducing financial burdens on parents, and providing essential resources for teachers. “By integrating vocational training into our education system, we can equip our youth with practical skills and enhance their employability,” he said.

On infrastructure development, He prioritizes utilizing existing resources, renovating dilapidated buildings, and collaborating with local security forces and CDAs. “We must maximize our existing infrastructure and harness the potential of our local security forces and CDAs to ensure effective community policing,” he emphasized.

Atebo commended Barrister Adewunmi Ogunsanya, the Odofin of Ikorodu, for his outstanding efforts in enhancing security. “We will partner with him and ensure our local security forces have the necessary resources and support to excel.”

Atebo’s youth empowerment initiatives include IT training, employability skills, and orientation. “We must equip our youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in today’s fast-paced world,” he said.

He also plans to empower women through financial independence opportunities, support for participation in politics and decision-making, and access to resources and training. “Women are the backbone of our community, and we must ensure they have the support and resources necessary to succeed,” he said.

When asked about the potential involvement of INEC in the Local Government elections, Atebo expressed his support for the move. “INEC’s involvement will ensure a level playing field and put an end to imposition, allowing our community to truly flourish,” he said.
