The 5th Assembly of the Lagos State Youth Parliament, led by Rt. Hon. Maria Itunuoluwa Soniregun, has taken a significant step in raising awareness about cholera among young people. In line with the National Youth Policy’s “Health and Health Promoting Lifestyle” pillar, the Parliament organized a campaign awareness at Government Senior College in Agege, educating over 700 students on cholera symptoms and prevention.

The event, which took place on Thursday 4th of July, brought together Honorable Members, including Mustapha Adelabu, Ojora Iyabode, Ibrahim Aishat, Ogunfunye Feyishola, Awe Kazeem, Badaru Wasiu, Adeogun Tunde, and Tobi Oladepo, who joined the campaign awareness to make a positive impact.

Speaker Soniregun extended her heartfelt appreciation to all the dedicated Honorable Members and active youth in Agege, including Faruq Salami and Soniregun Temiloluwa, who took the time to represent the parliament and ensured the success of this vital initiative.

The Lagos State Youth Parliament has been empowering young individuals to actively contribute to the development of their society, and this awareness campaign is a testament to their commitment.

Speaker Soniregun also expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, led by Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, for creating a platform like the Lagos State Youth Parliament that enables young people to make a difference.
