
A team of agricultural experts from the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, Alausa, led by Mr. Ogunseye Femi, paid a working visit to the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, in his office yesterday. The meeting aimed to identify farm produce, production capacity of farmers, cost of production, and farmers’ needs.
This visit comes after the Hon. Olowa-led administration launched the outgrower scheme, which aims to boost food production in the council area in partnership with local farmers. The scheme is part of the state government’s efforts to enhance food security and support the agricultural sector.
During the visit, the team also embarked on an inspection tour of farmlands in the Elerangbe axis, situated in the agrarian communities. Other members of the team from Alausa included Engr. Adetola O.C, Engr. Akinosho, Mr. Olayemi B.I, while the Council’s team comprised the Supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Muyideen Kareem, HOD Agriculture, Mr. Jelili Balogun, Barr. Damilola Lawson, Barr. Kehonde Popoola, and Mr. Mondiu.
The collaboration between the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Ibeju Lekki Local Government is expected to yield positive results in enhancing food production and security in the state.
