Dr. (Otunba) Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, Permanent Board Member of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), has extended his warmest greetings to Muslim faithful across the state on the occasion of Eid-il-Kabir.

In a statement released to mark the celebration, Dr. Ibikunle said, “I join my fellow Muslim Ummah in celebrating this year’s Eid-il-Kabir Sallah. May Almighty Allah accept our worship and supplications for ourselves and our dear nation. Happy Eid-il-Kabir!”

Dr. Ibikunle’s message of felicitation was accompanied by a reminder of the significance of Eid-il-Kabir, which commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (ASW) to sacrifice his son, Ismail (ASW), in obedience to Allah’s command. He encouraged Muslim faithful to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, love, and kindness that the celebration embodies.

As part of the Eid-il-Kabir teachings, Dr. Ibikunle emphasized the importance of selflessness, generosity, and compassion towards all. He urged Muslim faithful to extend a hand of support to those in need, saying, “Let us remember the less privileged and show them love and kindness during this festive season.”

He also prayed for peace, unity, and prosperity in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole, saying, “May Almighty Allah grant us peace, unity, and prosperity in our dear state and nation.”
