
The glorious days of march past was ignited on Children’s Day at the Elemoro Junior High School as students of various primary and secondary schools converged at the mini stadium to commemorate the children’s day celebration with the Army band of the Abalti signals Barrack giving it a touch of sonority
The occasion which comprise traditional Royal Fathers, The National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Civil Society groups, Market women, Representatives of Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA) Political leaders and paramilitary organisations, also had other members of the general public in attendance
Speaking at the occasion, the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa reiterated that discipline Is indeed a vital ingredient to succeed in life as his administration Is committed to building a total child as Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has done much in the education sector like providing free exercise books, Imprest to Primary School teachers, tidying up of school premises and organising inter- school contests while also assuring that provision, promotion and protection of child’s rights will be the Hallmark of the administration In advancing the cause of children.
Speaking further, the Council Chairman used the moment to call on the International community to safeguard children’s rights who do not even have the assurance of a secured future, particularly in war torn zones in different parts of the world.
Different schools participated in the march past as the moment of climax was the parade displayed by the traditional Royal Fathers Led by the Onisolu of Solu Alade, Oba Muhideen Adebowale Balogun as other participants like women leaders, the NULGE, amongst others also displayed.
Present at the occasion were the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Adewale Adebanjo, and other Exco members, Hon. Olamilekan Higara, Hon. Abidemi Aromire Razaq (ARA), Hon. Ajiwole Shefiu, Hon. Babatunde Ogungbo, Hon Balogun Kazeem Olugbenga, Apex Leader, Hon. Balogun Logun, Hon Babatunde Shittu, the Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa and the entire management team, amongst others.
