
Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, led Administration of Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, celebrated the children of Ikosi-Isheri in commemoration of the 2024 Children’s Day. Which was themed “Protecting the Nigerian Child from the Dangers of Online.” The initiative aimed to educate parents, guardians, and children on the potential risks and safety measures related to online activities.
The students showcased their talents in a lively march pass and engaging Quiz Competition, where Express Primary School emerged as champions for both competition.
Princess Samiat Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, who was represented by the Vice Chairman Hon. Yinka Ogunleye highlighted the importance of Children’s Day during her speech. She emphasized the significance of the annual celebration held on May 27th as a public holiday dedicated to celebrating children. Princess Samiat described children as shining stars, each with their unique brightness, innocence, and boundless potential.
She stressed the duty of adults to nurture and protect children’s dreams, encouraging them to chase their aspirations with courage. The Mayoress extended warm wishes for a day filled with love, laughter, and colorful experiences for all children, with a journey through childhood filled with joy, love, and divine blessings.
Princess Samiat also called upon parents and guardians to pay closer attention to children, recognizing them as the future leaders whose upbringing shapes the society.
She urged parents to maintain strong relationships with their children and advised children to steer clear of negative influences such as arson, banditry, kidnapping, rape, thuggery, cultism, and other social vices.
She emphasized the importance of instilling positive values in children to ensure a bright future for the community.
Hon. Dayo Ogunleye, the Supervisor for Education, motivated the children to focus on their studies, inspiring them to aspire to become future leaders such as Presidents, Governors, Doctors, Lawyers, and more.
The Head of Department for Education in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, urged the children to be responsible in their homes, to heed their parents’ advice, and to focus on their studies. She emphasized that education is key to achieving success and making a positive impact in society.
