Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Rep. Babajimi Benson, Prof. Abisogun Leigh, Segun Dada, and others got a top-notch Excellence Award at the Ikorodu Division General Assembly. The award was given to exceptional individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of Ikorodu Division and Lagos at Large by the Liaison Group of Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division (EPID).

Professor Abisogun Leigh delivered a lecture titled “IBILE IDEOLOGY IN THE EQUITABLE ADMINISTRATION OF LAGOS STATE: WHAT ROLES FOR THE EMINENT PERSONS OF IKORODU DIVISION (EPID).” He highlighted the strong foundation of Lagos State, emphasizing its potential for success due to its strategic geographical location as a port state, abundant aquatic resources supporting artisanal and commercial fishing, a highly educated population, and the political wisdom of its people. The lecture delved into the origin of the IBILE ideology, which was established early in the state’s history by the Military Governor and his team, demonstrating a commitment to fairness and equity in governance through the acronym representing the five divisions of Lagos State.

Engr. R.O Shoderu, in his address and Presentation of EPID Activities Report from 2022-2024, emphasized the importance of the Liaison Council in fulfilling the Vision and Mission of its founding fathers. He highlighted the Council’s efforts in engaging with various levels of government to drive development in Ikorodu Division, including establishing communication channels with political leaders to discuss and promote developmental programs.

Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Oba Ajibade Agoro, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Oba Olukayode David Raji, and other notable figures have commended the Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division for their commendable work in Ikorodu Division.
