The Women of Substance Association, Ikorodu Division made a generous donation of sewing machines to the Etunrenren Vocational Centre on Monday, 22nd of April. The Equipments will undoubtedly empower and equip individuals with valuable skills for their future in the Vocational Centre.

Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, the President of the Women of Substance Association in Ikorodu division, shared the primary reason behind their project: to empower and support the young people, women, vulnerable individuals, and the less privileged in the society. Their aim is to make a positive impact in any way they can.

Recognizing the significance of Vocational education in today’s world, Hon. Akinsola emphasized its role as a starting point for entrepreneurship among young people. They believe that supporting the state government in this cause is essential. The government has provided a conducive learning environment with facilities and pays the teachers. The Women of Substance Association is here to partner with the government and contribute in any way they can to support the children.

While the foundation has been in existence for a long time, the association was officially registered about five years ago. Since then, they have been actively pursuing their core objective and have gained recognition for their participation in activities within the Ikorodu division. The association includes women from all areas of the division, including LG and LCDA. They have received support from the Obas (traditional rulers) in the division, further reinforcing the importance of their work.

Hon. Akinsola’s call to action is for all well-meaning individuals to come forward and support their cause. Every contribution, no matter how small or large, is valuable. They have identified various needs, and they believe that these resources can be found in different places.
