Laketu Oladeiibi Joint CDA held a meeting to discuss the ongoing road construction of the 4.3km Lucky fiber-Odogunyan access road and address challenges faced by the community. During the meeting, the stakeholders expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Rep. Babajimi Benson for his unwavering commitment to bringing the dividends of democracy to their doorstep.

Comrade Oladele Winjobi, the Joint CDA Chairman of Laketu Oladeiibi and Vice Chairman of Ward E2 Erikorodo United Joint CDA’s, In his speech, He expressed that this momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in the history of the Laketu Lucky Fiber Access Road to Odogunyan, which has been in existence for decades.

He acknowledged the tireless efforts of his predecessors, such as Alhaji Akeeb, Baba Wahab, Baba Mukaila Omotosho, Lawyer Ajala, the late Baale Olufowosin Ilo, and the late Baale Olisado Malalu. He recognized their contributions and stated that their names will be written in gold for their dedication to this journey.

He also expressed gratitude to the individuals who assisted in making the road motorable for community members in 2019, 2020, and 2024, with a special mention to the Igbo members of their communities. The Obalereko’s were commended for their wonderful efforts, and all past and present CDA chairmen were recognized for their contributions.

He extended his utmost appreciation to his mentor Hon. Fakumoju, who provided him with the courage to strive for the betterment of Ward E2 Erikorodo, even during his six-month absence. He also thanked his team at the Joint CDA’s and his executive committee during his tenure as CDA Chairman Olisado Malalu before stepping down in July of last year.

In conclusion, Comrade Winjobi expressed his gratitude and prayers for Babajimi Benson, acknowledging his remarkable efforts in Ikorodu division. He assured Benson that the community would take ownership of the project upon its completion and promised to regularly monitor the road usage. The collaboration between the Baale’s, stakeholders, and property owners has been commendable, as they have been proactive in removing obstructions before the engineers arrive. Despite being only 6 weeks old, the project has already shown tremendous development, receiving congratulatory messages from both near and far.

Comrade Winjobi also extended his sincere appreciation to Hon. Samson Bisiriyu, Hon. Tijani, Builder Deola Banjo, Hon. Apanishile, and others for their valuable contributions.

Comrade Samson Bisiriyu expressed gratitude to Hon. Babajimi Benson for his remarkable contributions to the development of the area. The purpose of the gathering was to come together and discuss the progress made on the road construction project, as well as address any challenges faced by the community.

During the meeting, Comrade Samson Bisiriyu highlighted the significant progress that has been made on the road construction project since its commencement three weeks ago. The feedback from the community has been positive, and it was deemed essential to bring all stakeholders together to discuss updates and address any concerns.

One of the key points of discussion was the management of properties along the road. It was noted that some properties have extended beyond the normal land boundaries, affecting the road construction. Comrade Samson stressed the importance of informing other stakeholders in different communities about the community’s approach to managing such situations. Each community has its jurisdiction, and it is crucial to establish a template for handling property-related challenges.

The road construction project aims to cover approximately fifty communities, with progress already made in five communities. The road is set to connect Lucky Fiber and Oloja, spanning from one ward to another (E2 to E1). This gathering served as an opportunity to unite all stakeholders and ensure a coordinated effort in the development of the area.

Hon. Babayemi Fakunmoju, the first vice chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, and joint chairman of Ward E2, led a remarkable show of solidarity and support for their Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson. The event, held in Ikorodu, was a heartfelt display of appreciation for the outstanding work done by Hon. Benson.

During his address to the stakeholders, Hon. Fakunmoju, who proudly identifies as an indigene of Ikorodu, emphasized the positive changes witnessed under Hon. Benson’s leadership. One of the notable achievements highlighted was the significant improvement in road infrastructure, benefiting both indigenes and non-indigenes alike.

Areas like Adaraloye, Alase, Police barracks, and Eruwen were specifically mentioned as examples of the transformative impact of Hon. Benson’s initiatives. The recent development in Eruwen, which was once deemed impassable, has now become easily navigable, thanks to the efforts of Hon. Benson.

Hon. Fakunmoju stressed the importance of fair treatment for all, urging the community to refrain from inflating prices or taking advantage of the improved infrastructure. He emphasized the need to create an environment that is welcoming to people looking to buy properties or rent shops in the area.

Prince Olutusin Adebayo, the Baale of Olisado Malalu community in Parafa, who is also the Chairman responsible for overseeing the construction of the new road construction in their community. He said the progress made so far has been commendable, and the community has been actively engaged in several meetings to ensure its success.

He also expressed gratitude to Babajimi Benson for providing this opportunity to enhance the infrastructure of their community.

Chief Idowu Ogusanya the Baale Oguntade Oloja, This much-needed road will stretch from Lucky Fibre to Sheriff Junction at Odogunyan, benefiting a total of seven to six communities. Baale Idowu Oguntade Oloja extended heartfelt gratitude to Babajimi Benson and prays for God’s blessings upon him.

Prince Oyefusi, the Supervisor for Budget in Ikorodu Local Government and a resident of the area, expressed his deep gratitude to Hon. Jimi Benson for his benevolent acts towards the community. Oyefusi recognized Benson’s selfless contributions and acknowledged the positive impact they have had on the lives of the residents.
