…. Surulere LG partners with UB40 and Starlight on a 10km Marathon exercise

In what it seems like an unprecedented  and monumental event at the local government level is the marathon exercise tagged “Lere Funathon” organised by the Surulere Local Government under the leadership of Hon Sulaiman Bamidele Yusuf in partnership with Mr Sola Lawson, CEO of UB40 sports marketing and Mr. Paul Biola Ovientaoba, Managing Director Starlite Sport Marketing, collaborating in making this feat a fruition.

   In a Press Conference held at the Surulere Secretariat on Wednesday 3rd of April, the organizers enunciated the importance of these marathon Fiesta to the people of Surulere, it was stressed that it is a combination of marathon and Funtainment which is why the name “Funathon” was coined, Surulere is renowned for Sports, entertainment and night life, Surulere traces its history back to notable sportsmen, nollywood icons and super star musicians who have their roots from Surulere and this programme will be a rebound into its rich heritage for the people of Surulere to get fit while getting entertained.

    The Lere Funathon is expected to hold on the morning of August 17th 2024 and it has been resolved to be a regular and monumental event while hundreds of people from Surulere are expected to take part in this exercise.

  Present at the Press conference are the Surulere LG Council Manager, Mr Habib Buari, the Honorable Supervisor for Agric, Youth and Sports, Mr Oladehinde Labinjo and the Honorable SSA on Sports, Mr Seguin Davies from the Surulere Local Government and Gentlemen of the Press.
