The Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Deola Banjo yesterday seized the opportunity of the Lambo Lasunwon road flag-off to celebrate Honourable Babajimi Benson’s birthday in a grand style.

Builder Banjo stormed the flag-off with two giant cakes with bottles of assorted wines to commemorate the birth anniversary of the man who has turned Ikorodu to a construction site.

The well-attended event had in attendance a member of the Governors Advisory Council, Senator Seye Ogunlewe, APC, Lagos State party secretary, Honourable Muyideen Adeola Jokomba, Chairman, Igbogbo baiyeku LCDA, Builder Sesan Daini, Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA, Honourable Sulaiman Kazeem, the Eweye of Isiu land, Oba Olukayode Raji, APC Chairman, Ikorodu division, Honourable Olasunkanmi Tijani and a host of other notable names witnessed the flag off of the Lambo Lasunwon road yesterday.

Dignitaries at the event took turn to appreciate and prayed passionately for Honourable Babajimi Benson for coming to the aid of the Lambo Lasunwon road which has been in a deplorable shape for over a decade.

Honorable Olasunkanmi Tijani in his speech said- “Honourable Jimi Benson has just lifted a huge burden off the leadership of Ikorodu North LCDA because the state of the road has become an albatross that wouldn’t even allow them visit the area or walk freely within the community but we thank God today, such feeling is about to end with the flag off of this road”.

Builder Deola Banjo in his speech thanked Honourable Babajimi Benson countless number of times for the flag-off of the second very significant roads in Ikorodu North LCDA within one month. On behalf of the good people of Lambo Lasunwon and the entire good people of Ikorodu North LCDA, Banjoo prayed relentlessly for Honourable Babajimi Benson after which he invited seated dignitaries to join him in cutting the birthday cake with a melodious song from DJ Slim in the background.

The Eweye of Isiu, Oba Olukayode David Raji also thanked Honourable Jimi Benson for the good works he has been doing in the nooks and crannies of Ikorodu division, describing him as the “Oluomo of Ikorodu division”. The Isiwu Eweye development association also presented a recognition plaque to JB in recognition of his numerous giant strides in Ikorodu.

Mayor Deen Sanwoola, the Director General of the iCare foundation admonished Landlords not to increase  their rents astronomically as a result of the development the road would bring. He urged them to be more compassionate and circumspect while he also sought the cooperation of the stakeholders in the community to ensure nothing disturb the contractor from doing his job in record time.
