…. Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation Pledges Support to 20 Asalatu Groups, Empowering their Members to Start Small-Scale Businesses

Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation hosted their 15th Annual Ramadan lecture, focusing on the theme “Dealing with Difficult Times.” It also featured a comprehensive health talk by Dr. Omowunmi Oreagba-Ajayi.

During her talk, Dr. Omowunmi emphasized the importance of seeking healthcare from professional medical practitioners rather than relying on neighbors or community members. She also stressed the significance of following prescribed dosages to combat Antimicrobial Resistance in our society.

Dr. Omowunmi appealed to the general public to refrain from using antibiotics without proper prescriptions, as this practice poses a serious threat to people’s lives.

Fadeelatu-Sheikh AbdulFatai Muh’d Raji Al Thaqofy (Baba Mushin) urged the audience to utilize the spirit of the holy month to pray for the nation. He shed light on the current economic downturn, attributing it to the destructive economic policies of the past few years. Baba Mushin emphasized the need for patience and prayer to rectify the situation.

Al-Imam Abdulsemi Ajani Alkilany, the Chief Imam and head of chaplaincy, emphasized the importance of halting hostility and embracing peace and tranquility for the progress of our country. He expressed hope that Almighty Allah would intervene and rectify our wrongs.

He further asserted that by managing the available resources and continuing to pray and hope for better days, the masses can make things right. He called upon Muslims nationwide to pray for the country, especially during the Holy month of Ramadan, a time of chastity and purity.

Engr. Ishaq Alabi, the President of Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation, urged Masjids, Islamic foundations, and organizations to create empowerment schemes for their members. This would discourage them from obtaining loans with high interest rates.

In line with this, the Foundation generously pledged support to twenty Asalatu groups, empowering their members to start small-scale businesses within their communities. The empowerment project is supported by Barrister Sharaphdeen  Idowu, Principal Partner, Braintree Solicitors, Hon. Dayo Bush, Lagos State Commissioner for Water Front Development, Mayor Dele Oshinowo , Chairman Agboyi Ketu LCDA, Hon. Samuel Olanrewaju Adebayo President Succour Foundation, Mr. Olalekan Mutiu , MD , Bratetek Nig Ltd, among others

Through these efforts, the Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation aims to promote economic empowerment and alleviate financial burdens, fostering self-reliance and prosperity among the Muslim community.
