
NASFAT Ikorodu Branch held its 2nd Annual Ramadan public lecture on March 23, 2024, in honor of Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives, Ikorodu federal constituency. Aimed to acknowledged his significant contributions to the growth and development of Ikorodu and its environment.
During the event, Rep. Babajimi Benson was praised for his generous pledge towards the procurement of a state-of-the-art facility for the NASFAT Health Centre in Ikorodu.
Rep. Benson also distributed over 500 food packages to Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
The prayer session, which was organized by the Missioner and all members of NASFAT Ikorodu Branch, featured the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. The purpose was to offer prayers and express gratitude to Hon. Babajimi Benson for his benevolence and kind gestures towards the organization.
The guest speaker Fadilat Sheikh al Khalifah Buhary Yahaya Salaty (Khalifah-Ameerul Jaish). He engaged the audience with a thought-provoking talk on the topic “Keeping Feet and Healthy: An Islamic Perspective.” Sheikh Buhary Yahaya Salaty highlighted various ways in which individuals can lead a healthy lifestyle while aligning it with their spiritual beliefs. This included consuming nutritious foods, wearing appropriate clothing, engaging in necessary physical exercise, and participating in activities that promote overall well-being.
Sheikh Buhary Yahaya Salaty also emphasized the significance of Ramadan in helping Muslims strengthen their connection with Allah. He explained that besides the steadfastness observed during Ramadan, it also encourages individuals to refrain from excessive behaviors and adopt healthier habits.
Imam Qazeem Olajide Abdul Razak, the lead Missioner of NASFAT Ikorodu branch, emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a time for personal growth and spiritual upliftment. He described Ramadan as a school where individuals unlearn, learn, and relearn, applying the lessons throughout the year.
Mayor Deen Sanwoola, representing Hon. Babajimi Benson through the DG icare Foundation, encouraged Muslims to utilize the spirit of Ramadan to pray for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He highlighted the importance of giving back to the community and expressed gratitude for NASFAT’s gesture of honoring Hon. Jimi Benson with this year’s Ramadan lectures.
Mayor Deen Sanwoola also mentioned the ongoing efforts of the iCare Foundation in providing food items, known as “APO ANU,” to the people on a monthly basis for the past eight years. He emphasized the importance of leaders setting an example by sharing their blessings with others.
