
Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has launched a first-of-its-kind bursary program for the LCDA’s indigent students in higher institutions. Known for his innovative initiatives, Akogun Anomo officially introduced the program on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, at the Council Secretariat in Agbowa.
The N10 million annual bursary program will award N50,000 to 200 students across four phases each year. The program aims to support deserving students irrespective of the higher institution and will be chosen from all six wards of the LCDA, with the aim to alleviate their financial burdens. During the inauguration, 50 students, selected from over 10 institutions with a spread across the 6 Wards of the LCDA received #50,000 each .
In his address, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, emphasized his dedication to investing in both human capital and infrastructural development within Ikosi-Ejinrin. He urged the students to prioritize their studies and avoid distractions. He highlighted the LCDA’s commitment to excellence and expressed his confidence that the bursary program will motivate students to achieve outstanding results, bringing pride to the LCDA.
The Vice Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Dehinsilu, congratulated the recipients and emphasized the importance of graduating with excellent grades as that is the only way to show appreciation for the LCDA’s investment.
The National President of the Federation of Ikosi-Ejinrin Students Association (FIKESA), Bello AbdulGafar, expressed his gratitude to Akogun Wale Anomo for fulfilling his promise. He advised the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely and reassured other students that their turn will come.
Otunba Shittu Aliu Idowu (SAICO), Chairman of the Bursary Awards Committee, commended Akogun Wale Anomo for his visionary and exemplary leadership and encouraged the recipients to prioritize their studies and avoid distractions.

Adesanya Ibraheem, and the Epe Constituency II representative at Lagos State Youth Parliament Com. Bakre Israel Ttimilehin.
