
Ikosi-Isheri LCDA under the led administration of Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA distributed food palliatives and cash token to residents observing the holy month of Ramadan and Lent. The initiative aims to alleviate the burden on families during these sacred periods and ensure that everyone has access to nutritious meals.
Addressing the audience, Mayoress expressed her gratitude to God and emphasized the values of compassion, solidarity, and mutual support that define Ikosi-Isheri LCDA. She highlighted the significance of Ramadan for the Muslim community, as a time of spiritual renewal and increased devotion, and Lent for the Christian community, as a period of repentance and preparation for Easter.
She acknowledged the economic hardships faced by many and emphasized the duty of the local government to support and uplift those in need, especially during times of religious significance.
These food palliatives hold more than just provisions; they symbolize hope, compassion, and unity. Princess Samiat Bada assured the community that the administration’s commitment to supporting and uplifting those in need will never waver.
Princess Samiat Bada emphasized the importance of patience with the leadership of President Tinubu. She encouraged residents to register for NIN and LASSRA, as the President plans to introduce a scheme that will provide financial support to individuals. This initiative aims to bring hope to the nation and uplift those in need.
Furthermore, the Mayoress commended Governor Sanwo-Olu’s ‘Ounje Eko’ initiative, which removes 25 percent of the cost on all food items. This move aims to alleviate the financial burden on residents and ensure that essential food supplies remain affordable during these challenging times.
She urged everyone to embrace the spirit of giving and empathy as they celebrate Ramadan and Lent. She emphasized the importance of unity and supporting one another through acts of kindness and solidarity.
