Public Health Sustainable Advocacy Initiative, has appointed ABIODUN AJAYI as its Executive Director. This organization was established during the implementation of the Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (NURHI 2) project in Lagos.

It was formally named Lagos Advocacy Working Group (LAWG) before it was renamed PHSAI. As part of the organization’s advocacy efforts in 2017, the Family Planning budget increased by 100%  in the 2018 budget line of the Lagos State Ministry of Health. As a result of the sustained advocacy of PHSAI, Family Planning now has a specific budget line in the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board created in 2017 and 2018 for the procurement of Family Planning consumables, which was identified as a major barrier for the most vulnerable women to accessing FP services.

At their 1st Quarter meeting held on the 14th of March, 2024, the board and management affirmed the appointment of Mr Abiodun Ajayi as the Executive Director of the organization. His efforts in growing PHSAI while acting as ED was commended and appreciated by the entire leadership of the organisation.

Until his appointment, he has served as Program Officer and has represented the organisations at high-profile meetings and engagements. He was part of the team that developed the 2019 Budget Scorecard on Family Planning/Adolescent and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health funded by PAI.

The Board of Trustees Chairman Barr. Ayo Adebusoye affirmed Mr Abiodun Ajayi alongside 7 other executives to serve in different capacities.

The review meeting which was funded by The Challenge Initiative held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry Conference Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
