
Itire-Ikate LCDA, under the leadership of Hon. Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, the Executive Chairman, set to launch free meal palliative for all nine public primary school pupils in Itire-Ikate LCDA, in the same vein hold an interactive meeting with the Parents Forum and School-Based Management Committee (SBMC). This initiative aims to ensure that every pupil in the LCDA receives a nutritious meal.
Hon. Apatira and his team recognized the importance of providing support to these pupils, and they believe that this palliative will greatly benefit the children. The free meal palliative includes a well-balanced meal, fruits, and water.
Hon. Yetunde Jimba, the Vice Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, represented the chairman at the launching.
She said, the chairman recognized the need to extend his palliative support to the children in the community. He pondered on how he could ensure their participation in this program, and that’s when the idea of a food palliative, including fruits and water, came to his mind. This support from the local government will greatly benefit the children.
She advised the teachers, to make this program a success, it is crucial for the teachers to take good care of the children and ensure everything runs smoothly. Their attentive supervision will contribute to the overall success of this initiative.
Hon. Babatunde Awoyelu, the Executive Secretary of Education, Surulere LG expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Ahmed Apatira for being the first Local Government Chairman in Lagos State to bring this initiative to life.
He recognizes the importance of addressing hunger in the classroom. He believes that when pupils are well-fed, they can learn more effectively and reach their full potential. With this program, no child in Itire-Ikate LCDA will have to worry about going hungry while trying to learn.
Mrs. Ademehin Elizabeth, the Head of Department of Education and Library Services in Itire-Ikate LCDA, highlighted the benefits of the program, emphasizing that it will reduce the financial burden on parents and ensure that students remain active and engaged in the classroom.
“This kind of initiative is a good idea and should be encouraged,” Elizabeth stated, commending the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ahmed Apatira, for spearheading the program.
Khalifa Ibrahim Tijani, the General Coordinator for Itire-Ikate Public Schools stakeholders, the parent forum body, and the school-based management committee (SBMC), expressed his happiness and gratitude for this much-needed support. He emphasized that while many parents are willing to provide for their children, some are struggling to make ends meet. The program is seen as a significant relief for these families.
Khalifa Ibrahim Tijani also urged parents to rally behind Hon. Ahmed Apatira and offer their unwavering support. He emphasized that the success of this program relies not only on the government’s efforts but also on the collective support and prayers of the community. Together, they can make a positive impact on the lives of their children.
