Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., the Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives, the event, held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Multi-Purpose Hall in the National Assembly Library
The International Women’s Day Celebration brought together esteemed individuals from various sectors to commemorate the achievements and contributions of women worldwide. Hon. Salau Rukayat Ajibike’s presence at the event highlighted her commitment to women’s empowerment and poverty alleviation of Ikorodu West LCDA.
Hon. Salau Rukayat, expressed her admiration for Speaker Abbas’ pledge during the International Women’s Day celebration. Speaker Abbas vowed to pass the Gender Equal Opportunities Bill (GEOB), aiming to ensure women’s active and equal participation in Nigeria’s political and decision-making processes.
In his address, Speaker Abbas also highlighted his intention to promote legislation that would increase women’s representation in elective positions.
