… Set to launch Bursary and Scholarship Award for tertiary Students

Akogun Wale Anomo, the Executive Chairman Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA commissioned a block of three classrooms at LG Central Primary School, Agbowa-Ikosi on Friday, 8th of March. The newly constructed classrooms are equipped with marker board, and furnitures, providing a conducive learning environment for the students.
Akogun Wale Anomo also distributed Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA complete school packs to over 500 pupils of Ikosi-Ejinrin School. The complete school pack included 10 exercise books, writing materials like pens and pencils, a dictionary for those preparing for secondary education, and a mathematical set.
Not stopping there, Akogun Wale Anomo also recognized the need for adequate classroom furniture. He provided additional plastic chairs and tables to classrooms that were lacking sufficient furniture in the school.
In his speech, Akogun Wale Anomo reaffirmed his commitment to bring positive change to the Position Local Council Development Area, particularly in the education sector. As a practical demonstration of this promise, a block of three classrooms was commissioned at LG Primary School in Agbowa. This block of classrooms was named after the esteemed political figure, Pa Femi Isiaka Dehinsilu, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the growth and development of the community.
During the commissioning ceremony, all the classrooms were furnished and provided with instructional materials. Akogun Wale Anomo said he personally visited the school and noticed that the kindergarten section was lacking sufficient furniture. To address this, plastic tables and chairs were procured and will be supplied to the kindergarten classes.
But the efforts didn’t stop there. A total of 17 primary schools in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA have also been provided with furniture, and today, the distribution of these materials to the children will take place.
“When I came on board,” Akogun Anomo stated, “we designed a package called the Ikosi-Ejinrin complete school pack for our children.” This comprehensive pack includes a school bag filled with essential supplies such as 10 exercise books, writing materials like pens and pencils, a dictionary for those preparing for secondary education, and a mathematical set.
Akogun Anomo highlighted the significance of education as he passionately expressed, “The best legacy we can give to these children is education.” To put his words into action, he organized a distribution event where the school packs were handed out to the eager children. The joy and gratitude radiated from the children, reflecting the positive impact of these initiatives.
The commitment to education and development in Ikosi-Ejinrin doesn’t end with the school packs. Akogun Anomo emphasized that they have also taken steps to address other vital aspects of development. “We are not just turning around the education system,” he said, “we are turning around every facet of development.” As part of this holistic approach, they have sewn school uniforms for some of the children and will be providing additional school standards as needed.
Furthermore, Akogun Anomo announced a significant infrastructure project that will benefit the Owu-Ikosi and Okeosho communities. “We are going to deliver a 500 KVA transformer for the good people of Owu-Ikosi and Okeosho Community today,” he declared. This transformer will ensure a stable and reliable supply of electricity, enhancing the quality of life for the residents.
One of the notable projects mentioned by Hon. Akogun Anomo is the commissioning of a new block of classrooms and an office at Ejinrin Primary School. The commissioning is set to take place by the end of this month, bringing renewed hope to the school community.
Hon. Akogun Anomo also highlighted the government’s people-centered programs and their dedication to addressing the needs of the community. He announced that next week, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held for a police barracks in Ketu Ejinrin. This initiative aims to enhance the security and well-being of the residents, providing a more comfortable living environment for the police officers who serve the area. Additionally, plans are underway to construct another police barracks in Agbowa, further emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and properties.
Hon. Akogun Anomo acknowledged the contributions of Baba Abdulganiu Akintola, the first executive Chairman of the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. He expressed his administration’s determination to restore and rehabilitate the block of 6 classrooms that was built approximately 20 years ago in the school.
Akogun Anomo proudly announced the expansion of the conditional cash transfer program in Lagos. The program, introduced just last month, provides monthly cash transfers to support individuals facing economic hardships. With the aim of alleviating the effects of the country’s economic challenges, over 200 people will soon receive a token of ₦10,000 as part of the program.
Akogun Anomo expressed his commitment to the welfare of the people, assuring them that the government is dedicated to bringing positive change. He revealed plans to introduce the “My Market” initiative, which aims to further support local businesses and stimulate economic growth. The initiative is set to be launched in the coming weeks, promising good times ahead for the people of Lagos.
Responding to the call for support from traders, Akogun Anomo also announced the upcoming introduction of the Trader Money program. This initiative will provide financial assistance to traders, ensuring their businesses thrive and contribute to the local economy.
In addition to these initiatives, He highlighted the government’s focus on education. He revealed plans to launch the maiden edition of the Scholarship and Bursary Award next week. This program will provide scholarships to indigent and indigenous students of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, demonstrating the government’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young minds.
Akogun Anomo emphasized that these initiatives are a testament to the government’s dedication to the welfare and development of the people. Under his leadership, the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains steadfast in its commitment to building a better future for all.
He expressed gratitude for the continued support of the people and encouraged them to join hands in achieving even greater milestones.
Oba Owolabi Saheed, the Abowa of Agbowa Kingdom, expressed his appreciation to the remarkable achievement of Akogun Anomo to education. During his address, Kabiyesi called on mothers to prioritize education for their children. He emphasized the importance of allowing children to attend school before pursuing vocational training, while also urging parents to closely monitor their behavior and instill discipline.
The Abowa of Agbowa Kingdom commended the Executive Chairman for the development in education within Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. He expressed his gratitude for the commissioning of a new block of classrooms, which signifies progress and a brighter future for Agbowa and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
Dr. Hakeem Shittu, the Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), expressed his unwavering admiration for the remarkable achievements of Akogun Anomo in the education sector.
“I must say, Akogun Anomo’s achievements in the education sector have never gone unnoticed,” Dr. Shittu stated. “I vividly remember in January when we commissioned a primary school at Ota Ikosi. Today, we are here to witness the commissioning of a block of three classrooms at LG Primary School Agbowa.”
“We at SUBEB are committed to supporting you in any way you may need,” Dr. Shittu affirmed. “I implore you to continue making a positive impact in the education sector. Your efforts are truly commendable, and we look forward to witnessing even greater achievements in the future.”
In his address, the monarch urged the Chairman to continue the good work and strive for even greater achievements.
The Education Secretary of Epe LG expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman for his remarkable contributions in transforming the education landscape within the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. the Education Secretary acknowledged the Chairman’s dedication and commitment to improving the educational facilities in the LCDA.
