As we commemorate the achievements of women worldwide, it is imperative that we reflect on the theme for this year: “INSPIRE INCLUSION .” We are reminded of the importance of celebrating the achievements of women and advocating for gender equality , a call to action to create a world where every woman and girl is valued, respected, and empowered to reach her full potential.

On this International Women’s Day, I celebrate the progress made towards gender equality in my Constituency such as:
• A female representation in my cabinet.
• BESI scholarship 1,2 and 3 had a minimum women percentage of 40%
• Designing special programs for Widows across Badagry Constituency 1.

I am a strong believer in women inclusion in governance, workplace, and other aspects of life but I also acknowledge that there is still much work to be done. Women and girls around the world continue to face systemic barriers and entrenched inequalities that limit their opportunities and hinder their progress.

To truly inspire inclusion, we must address the root causes of gender inequality and discrimination and work together to dismantle the barriers that hold women back. This requires a collective effort that involves governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and individuals alike.

Inspiring inclusion is not just a goal; it is a moral imperative and a fundamental human right.

On this International Women’s Day, let us recommit ourselves to the cause of gender equality and work together to create a world where every woman and girl can thrive and succeed, regardless of who they are or where they come from.

Signed :
Hon. Solomon Saanu Bonu
