In an effort to empower and provide employment opportunities, Hon. Salau Rukayat Ibukun Ajibike, the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Ikorodu West LCDA, and Bakery Initiative Empowerment and Employment Program (BIEEP) organised a day seminar for the participants of the Bread Making.

The training is scheduled to take place from the 12th to the 23rd of February 2024. This initiative aims to equip young females between the age of 18-35 with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the bakery industry, fostering self-reliance and economic growth within the community.

Hon. Salau Rukayat expressed her belief in the power of self-reliance, emphasizing that the bakery business is a significant industry with immense potential. She encouraged the participants to adhere to the training guidelines provided by the experienced trainers, as following these rules would be crucial to their success.

She expressed her gratitude to the participants for their keen interest in the training. She assured them that their decision to partake in the program would be a decision they would never regret.

Mrs. Omotola Akinsaya, the Project Officer for the Bakery Initiative Empowerment and Employment Program (BIEEP), recently outlined the program’s three main pillars: Training, Employment, and Entrepreneurship, during a press briefing.
Emphasizing the importance of these pillars, Mrs. Omotola highlighted the opportunity for adults to transition to the Entrepreneurship stage. With the support of the Bakery Initiative, participants have the potential to establish their own bakeries, creating sustainable businesses that contribute to the local economy.

Mrs. Omotola assured participants that employment opportunities are guaranteed post-training, along with a minimum wage. This commitment ensures that participants can apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge in a professional setting, gaining valuable experience while earning a fair income.

Mrs. Sola Amusu, the Head of Department for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) in Ikorodu West LCDA, urged the participants to wholeheartedly focus on the teachings they receive. She emphasized that engaging in the bakery business has the potential to transform their lives, making them better individuals.
