
Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, under the leadership of Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, has taken a significant step by distributing 500 free JAMB forms for the year 2024 to the students of Ikosi-Isheri. This noble initiative, known as the Ikosi-Isheri – Support Initiative, aims to provide opportunities for students and youths in the community.
Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, in her speech she emphasized that the event was about more than just providing examination forms. It symbolized the LCDA’s unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of learning and growth. The distribution of JAMB/UTME forms has been a priority for the administration since its inception, with the aim of supporting interested and qualified Ikosi-Isheri youths. The Mayoress expressed pride in receiving calls and messages from previous beneficiaries who have now enrolled in various higher institutions.
As the Mayoress, Princess Samiat proudly announced a proactive approach to investing in the future of the community. By distributing these JAMB forms, they are opening doors for students to pursue higher education, enabling them to shape their destinies and make meaningful contributions to society. She expressed gratitude to the Executive, Legislative, and Management members, as well as all stakeholders who have collaborated tirelessly to make this initiative a success.
Princess Samiat, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, highlighted several administrative achievements in the area of education during her speech. These achievements include the reconstruction of three blocks of classes in Ikosi Primary School and the yearly distribution of furniture and educational materials to 12 public primary schools in the LCDA.
Princess Samiat also mentioned the establishment of a one-day executive chairman position for the winner of the Lagos State Spelling Bee competition. This initiative aims to promote skills training and provide startup tools to the participants after the training. Additionally, the Mayoress announced the establishment of the Mayoress Football Academy, which includes a monthly allowance for players.
To further support secondary and tertiary education, the LCDA has been distributing UTME and GCE examination forms on a yearly basis. They have also established an ICT center for the youth in the community. Princess Samiat expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming plans and initiatives in the field of education.
Addressing the students directly, the Mayoress encouraged them to embrace this opportunity with enthusiasm and determination. She emphasized that education is the key to unlocking endless possibilities and urged the students to use these JAMB forms as a stepping stone towards a brighter future. Hon. Dayo Ogunleye, the Supervisor for Education in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, emphasized the importance of taking the JAMB form seriously. He advised the beneficiaries not to view it as something free, but rather as an opportunity to excel in their exams. This initiative aims to provide succor to the parents because of the economic hardships.
In addition, Hon. Ogunleye said Ikosi-Isheri LCDA will be organizing free coaching classes to support and assist the beneficiaries in achieving excellent results.
The beneficiaries of the free JAMB forms expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Princess Samiat Bada for giving them this incredible opportunity.
