Eginrin Podolu Asomole Community Development Association held its 2023 Annual general meeting and Award ceremony on Saturday January 27th 2024, in line with article(8) section (c) of the Lagos State Constitution for the Community Development Association (CDA) to host an (AGM) for the sole purpose of transparency and accountability to the people of the community to know their financial strength position, also to reward deserving residents of the community.
This year’s (AGM) was an outstanding exercise that featured two significant aspects which are account rendering and the award ceremony for the well-deserving resident in the community for playing an integral part in the development of the Eginrin Podolu Asemole Community.
Meanwhile, the program kick-started with the presentation of all Statutory Reports by the concerned Officers of the CDA, who eloquently and thoroughly disseminated their reports to every member, streamlining the community’s progression and not leaving behind its weaknesses.
The chairman of Eginrin Podolu Asemolu CDA, who is equally the Chairman Joint United CDA Odogunyan, Mr Lucky Oluku while delivering his speech, he emphasized and extended his condolences to the family of Mr Tunji Ismail who gave up the ghost in the early hours of the day, a minute silence was observed in his honor and those who passed on in the year 2023, then he applauded and also acknowledged the overwhelming support that birthed the remarkable achievement of the CDA over the past year.
He also highlighted some positivities that have revolved within the community, organising events such as annual community prayers, Voters Registration, Annual Children Party, LASSRA Registration and initiating an educational program to empower the youth of the community, this has brought about peaceful co-existence within the community.
The Chairman, “We should not work in isolation. Collaboration and networking are key components of successful community development. Let us reach out to other organisations, institutions, and government bodies to build connections. By sharing knowledge, resources, and best practices, we can amplify our impact and achieve even greater outcomes”.
Immediately After the chairman’s speech, the financial secretary Mr Peter Osuoha came on board to give the financial report, which includes the receipt and payment as of 31st December 2023, and also the balance sheet, which includes the Asset and liabilities of the of the community, followed by the Auditor speech by Mr Sola Gbadamosi who attested to the financial transaction of the community and also affirmed the financial statements of the community development Association for the previous year, “this means that the statement present a fair representation of the association‘s financial position”.
Several observations were duly obliged and there were room for questions and clarification on issues raised.
Mr Odubena Azeez (Acting Hod AGRIC & SOCIAL SERVICES IKORODU NORTH LCDA),
commended the chairman for organising an engagement that purposely provided the general overview and financial status of the community, he added, “Eginrin Podolu community is one out of many, who does its (AGM) yearly in the whole of Lagos state, this is applaudable and I pray the lord will continue to strengthen the Mr chairman to continue this outstanding services”.
During the meeting the following resolution were moved and approved by the house
1, SECURITY LEVY FROM N1,000.00 TO N1,200 FLAT RATE
- SITTING DUES FROM N100.00 TO N200.00
- DEVELOPMENT LEVY FROM N60,000 TO N100,000.00
New Rates come into effect from JANUARY 01, 2024.
The chairman expressed his gratitude to everyone who has consistently and voluntarily contributed financial to the community, they are the real MVPs, he also seized the medium to distribute awards for all the awardees who were present and those in diaspora, the awards include, certificates of recognition, punctuality and selfless service for the development of the Eginrin Podolu Asemole Community.
The CDC Chairman lkorodu North, a fine gentleman Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo was on ground to present awards to all the awardees. He admonished them not to relent on their efforts, rather the awards and recognition bestow on them, so gear them to do more selfless service to the community and mankind in general.
