In a remarkable event marking the 37th anniversary and award presentation of Al-Monial Sheriff Arabic and Islamic School, under the leadership of Sheikh Toliat Muh’d Murtadoh, organized a thought-provoking lecture on the lessons we can learn from the faith of the state of Palestine. The lecturers shed light on the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people and draw parallels to the Nigerian context.

Sheikh Toliat Muh’d Murtadoh, the proprietor of Al-Monial Sheriff Arabic and Islamic School, reflected on the legacy of the school that his late parents founded. Sheikh Murtadoh has been at the helm of the school for 20 years, ensuring its growth and continued success.

Sheikh Toliat emphasized the significance of understanding the challenges faced by the Palestinian people and the lessons Nigerians can derive from their experiences. The lecture served as a platform for fostering empathy and solidarity among the attendees.

Sheikh Murtadoh expressed his unwavering belief that whatever is happening in Palestine, Almighty Allah will intervene and bring an end to the turmoil.

Sheikh Abdul Gafar Jumhat Balogun, a prominent religious leader, During his sermon he emphasized the importance of love for our country and discouraging the habit of cursing Nigeria. Drawing a comparison to the United States of America, Sheikh Balogun highlighted how citizens there often express their love for their country by saying “God bless America,” while in Nigeria, negativity and curses are more prevalent.

During his sermon, Sheikh Balogun urged every citizen of Nigeria to adopt a positive mindset and speak positively about their country. He emphasized that by speaking positively and praying for the nation, citizens can contribute to its growth and development.

Sheikh Balogun also emphasized the virtue of patience and acceptance, drawing from the example of Palestine. Despite the challenges faced by the Palestinian people, they remain patient and trust in the will of Almighty Allah. This resilience and acceptance of their fate serve as valuable lessons for all, reminding us to trust in a higher power and remain steadfast in the face of adversity.

Comrade Abdulwaheed Odunuga, a social commentator and 2023 House of Representatives candidate in Kosofe, also talked about the topic, the ongoing situation in Palestine. he emphasized the importance of remembering the consequences of our actions and standing in solidarity with those in need.

Comrade Odunuga highlighted that many Christians have shown support for Palestine, urging Muslims to stand by their fellow Muslims. He drew attention to the Ibadan Explosion as an example of the need to speak up when we witness something wrong.

Furthermore, Comrade Odunuga expressed his concern about the silence of African leaders, suggesting that they may be hesitant to be judged based on religion, which he believes is not the right approach. He called for leaders to prioritize justice and fairness above all.

Lastly, he emphasized the importance of educating our children about the current events in Palestine. Odunuga warned that children who witness the loss of their parents may be driven to seek revenge in the future. He urged parents and communities to teach their children the values of peace, understanding, and empathy.

Sheikh Muritala Akande, Reflecting on the historical context, he mentioned that this conflict has persisted for over a century, with intermittent periods of escalation and relative calm.

Sheikh Akande highlighted the events that unfolded in the early 1900s, where Israel’s actions pushed Palestinians towards their borders. At that time, tensions subsided temporarily. However, in recent times, the Palestinians have reached a breaking point and are now fighting back against the injustices they face.

Drawing parallels to Nigeria, Sheikh Akande urged the audience to learn from the Palestinians’ unwavering faith in Allah. Despite the challenges they endure, they continue to worship and place their trust in the Almighty. This perspective serves as a reminder for Nigerians to remain steadfast in their faith and rely on the guidance of Allah.

Sheikh Akande emphasized the importance of worship and faith as sources of strength during difficult times. By staying devoted to Allah and having faith in His plan, Nigerians can find solace and resilience in the face of obstacles.

As-seyyidah Robiat (Kaozajiyah) and other esteemed Islamic scholars addressed the audience about the lessons to be learned from the ongoing conflict in Palestine. They emphasized the importance of unwavering faith in Almighty Allah and urged the listeners to remain steadfast in their beliefs.
