The joy of residents of the Federal Low cost housing estate, Sabo road, Ikorodu earlier today know no bound as they prayed and praised the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Deola Banjo to high heavens for his thoughtfulness to construct roads, drainages and provide street lights for the housing estate.

The event which attracted the creme de la creme in the estate began at about 10am this morning at the A-lane road of the estate.

Builder Deola Banjo while addressing the joyous audience announced that his intervention works in the estate would be done in phases which would begin immediately with the A-lane, AM lane, the estate entrance and the link road within the estate that connects Prince Abiodun Ogunleye road to Sagamu road, Ikorodu.

He went further to announce that street lights and drainages would also be provided to enhance the safety of lives and properties within the estate.

Residents of the estate led by the CDA Chairman, Engineer Ayodeji Aka couldn’t hide their joy as they expressed their unreserved gratitude to the Chairman for being the first person to come to their aid despite so many years of lobbying to get the roads fixed.

A resident, Elder Oduniyi who addressed the audience said he has lived in the estate for over forty years and has participated in various efforts to get the roads fixed but all to no avail. He expressed sadness that he would have loved for some people who have passed on to witness this day because of their frantic efforts. He thanked God he is still alive today to witness this historic gathering after which he prayed for the Chairman fervently.

Other residents such as Engr Aiyeleso, Alhaja Obalereko, Mrs Oyebo, Alhaji Adenekan
who spoke at the event also took turn to appreciate the Chairman for receiving the grace to bring smile to the faces of residents of the estate. They sang, danced and prayed for the Chairman endlessly.

Officials of Ikorodu North LCDA who also witnessed the historic event are the Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Honourable Ameen Olawale Apanishile, Leader of the House, Hon. Ayo Adekoya, Secretary to the Local Government, Honourable Niyi Odugbesi, host Councillor, Honourable Niran Adeyemi Wake Up, Honourable Adaramola, Honourable Balqis Aderoju, members of the Executive arm, Honourable Sulaiman, Honourable Adewunmi, hon Ogunbela, Honourable Mattew Adesanya, Honourable Abiodun Salau and the Chief of staff to the Chairman, Honourable Abbey Banjo.
