
The second edition of the Keep-Fit-Lagos took place on Saturday 13th of January, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos. Keep-Fit-Lagos is a continuation of the bimonthly aerobics program that happens every second Saturday of the month.
The Keep-Fit-Lagos is an initiative of the Lagos State Sports Commission, in collaboration with the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Damilare Orimoloye. The main goal is to contribute positively to the physical and mental health of the people of Lagos.
The Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafaar, stated that the exercise was created to promote the general well-being of the people of Lagos and it will continue to get bigger with the increasing number of participants.
“People need to come out and exercise themselves as they say health is wealth. This is the only thing we can give our people to stay healthy and we will continue doing what we can do in order to contribute our own quota to the development and well-being of the people of Lagos and Nigeria”.
He further charged the participants to be conscious of their health status and embrace the culture of regular exercise as the state will not relent on its oars when it comes to the matter of mental and physical stability.
According to Damilare Orimoloye, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Keep-Fit-Lagos is not just an event anymore. It has evolved into a full-fledged movement that is dedicated to promoting the overall well-being of the people.
Orimoloye commended the conscious efforts of everyone who has contributed to the success of Keep-Fit-Lagos. Their commitment and support have been instrumental in making this movement a success.
Moving forward, the focus will be on building upon the momentum of Keep-Fit-Lagos. The aim is to educate people about the importance of exercise and the significance of managing their health.
