In a remarkable display of leadership and commitment to the well-being of the people, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, earlier today, began enrolling residents into the Ilera Eko Scheme, marking a significant milestone in prioritizing the health and welfare of the community.

Recognizing the profound importance of good health, Hon. Sulaimon Olanrewaju emphasized that “if there is health, there is wealth,” and that by prioritizing health, other aspects of life can fall into place.

The Ilera Eko program, which will be in effect for the next year, is designed to provide comprehensive health services and examinations for both the elderly and the young members of the community. By offering accessible healthcare facilities, the local government aims to alleviate the burden on the state and empower individuals to contribute to the overall prosperity of Lagos state and Nigeria as a whole.

The program covered a wide array of healthcare needs, including eye and dental care, among others. The citizens were able to receive the necessary treatments and medications, ensuring that their health needs were addressed effectively.

Chairman Olanrewaju highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating that a healthy population leads to reduced pressure on the state, allowing for more funds to be allocated to other vital infrastructure projects. Moreover, when individuals are in good health, they are better equipped to work and generate income, ultimately contributing to the overall economic growth of the state.

Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem expressed his commitment to providing more programs like this in the future, recognizing the importance of maintaining a healthy society. He encouraged everyone to embrace this opportunity, emphasizing that good health is essential for a prosperous nation.

Mrs. Ojo Mojisola, representing the Lagos State Health Management Agency, expressed her enthusiasm for the program. “We are here for a program called Ilera Eko, sponsored by the Lagos State Government in partnership with UNICEF,” she stated. “We are here in Ikorodu West LCDA to register people for the health insurance agency.” The scheme, sponsored by the Lagos State Government in partnership with UNICEF, aims to register individuals for health insurance coverage, specifically targeting the vulnerable members of the community.

Hon. Oshokoya expressed her gratitude to the government for initiating this project, which has been implemented across all local governments and LCDAs. The Ilera Eko Scheme has received support from LASHMA and EKOSHA, enabling the government to reach people at the grassroots level.

The MOH of Ikorodu West LCDA urged all residents to take full advantage of the incredible opportunity presented by the Ilera Eko initiative. This innovative program, brought right to their doorstep, offers free healthcare services to the community, and the MOH is encouraging residents to register without delay.

The MOH emphasized the importance of utilizing this exceptional chance to experience free healthcare. She expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government and the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sulaimon Olanrewaju for their unwavering commitment to the welfare of the residents of Ikorodu West LCDA.
