Fellow Members,
It is with great pleasure and much humility that I write today, _Tuesday, 26th December, 2023_, as the Outgoing Chairman of our great Class-Set. It has been two years long of amazing successes, challenges and above all, significant learning.
There is a saying that; you are as good as your team, which is similar to the African Ubuntu spirit. I have had an amazing team, outstanding individuals, _Saheed Shittu, Sanni Muraina, Lateef Erinle, Kafilat Olukoga, Kehinde Owoeye_ and the rest, who shared in the bigger vision for our esteemed Class-Set. Again, I remember one of us, the Social Director, _Late Tope Adeyoola Adeboyejo_, who passed on to eternity just three months to the expiration of our tenure. May her soul continue to rest in peace.
However, from my perspective, there’s so much more that can be achieved with a united front. Our Class-Set carries alot of treasure in terms of human resources that I’m optimistic the progress we envisaged can come from us.
So, our plan as Outgoing Exco is to fully support the incoming Executives to ensure they maximize the available potentials to take our Class-Set to greater heights.
I can not talk about the successes of our tenure without giving accolades to our Class-Set members, particularly the financial Contributors, who had strong faith in our leadership, from the beginning till the end of our tenure. They were there with words, directions, networks, financial support, respect and so much more. This, I can attribute our successes to.
This support has no doubt shaped me as a human being. I have seen how it has helped us give our best as an Executive Council entrusted with the leadership of this Association.
During our tenure, with the unflinching contributions of our members, we were able to record some successes on events and programmes.
1. With the support of members, we renovated to standard, the *Science Laboratories* of Oriwu Senior Model College with presentation of *Stools to Physics Lab*.
2. We equally provided *Pulpits* to the two religious houses in Oriwu Model College.
3. We organised a befitting *30th Anniversary programme,* where we honoured some of our Class-Set with *Meritorious Awards*, for their contributions.
4. We equally gave *Cash Empowerment* to three of our Class-Set members during our 30th Anniversary programme, to ensure we improve their standard of living.
5. We assisted some of our members who in dare need of our financial assistance, either on health grounds or otherwise.
6. We have gotten to the second reading on our *Constitution*, in which the coming regime will complete from where we stopped.
7. We organised a *Special Prayer Session* for our Class-Set, where we prayed for members and the departed souls among us.
8. We have equally put everything in place through the support of some of our members to Empower four of our members today, and this time around, *Grinding Machines and Fridge* would be giving out, while it’ll be a periodic gesture.
9. In the same vein, *Guinea Fabrics* would be distributed today as *Survenirs* for those that have completed their dues this year. Credit: _Akeem Oreagba_.
10. The total income plus dues realised during our two years tenure amounted to *N6,161,000*, _(Six million, one hundred and sixty-one thousand naira)_, while our total expenditure was *N5,714,750* _(Five million, seven hundred and fourteen thousand, seven hundred and fifty naira)_. However, the available balance in our Association’s Account as at December 2023 is *N446,250 (Four hundred and forty-six thousand, two hundred and fifty naira)_.
Hence, I want to profoundly thank _Akeem Oreagba, Quam Akinpelu, Taofeeq Oshikoya, Saidat Lawal, Abiodun Enifeni, Sanni Muraina, Lateef Erinle, Goke Ohunomojusi, Kunle Olambiwonnu, Sherifat Onileere, Idiat Ojuolape, Segun Adio, Kafilat Olukoga, the Omotayos and other progressive minded members, who have ensured we sustain the unity and progress amongst us.
On behalf of my regime and all members of our Class-Set, I want to also congratulate the incoming Executives, led by Akeem Oreagba. I wish you all the very best, a successful tenure and my full support would not be compromised.
To the Electoral body, Chaired by Karimot Ogunleye, welldone for a peaceful transition. And major thanks to the Advisory Council, led by Kunle Olambiwonnu, for their volunteer services.
Permit me to invite you all to my 50th Birthday Anniversary/ Official Declaration of my Chairmanship Ambition in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA*, scheduled for *20th January, 2024. Your support is indeed very much needed.
Once again, I sincerely thank you all.
