The Hon. Alimi Nurudeen Alowonle Annual 6th Football Competition is an initiative of Council Leader Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, who is also representing the great people of Ward C3.

The competition kicked off on Friday, December 1st, 2023, at the Anglican Primary School Football pitch at Offin Ile.

Hon. Alimi Nurudeen Alowonle, during the opening ceremony of the Annual 6th Football Competition, He emphasized that the competition is not only a platform for friendly rivalry but also a talent hunt among the youths in Ward C3.

In his speech, he highlighted the importance of sports in promoting youth development, fostering camaraderie, and discovering young talents who can potentially represent the community at higher levels. He expressed his excitement at witnessing the football skills and passion displayed by the young stars.

Hon. Alowonle also stressed the need for continuous support and investment in sports infrastructure to provide a conducive environment for nurturing young talents. He encouraged the community to rally behind the participants, cheering them on and encouraging their development both on and off the field.

Hon. Alimi Nurudeen Alowonle highlighted the multitude of benefits that this football competition brings to the community. Among the many advantages, Hon. Alowonle emphasized the positive economic impact of the competition.

One of the key aspects that contribute to the economic advantage is the presence of traders both within and outside the venue. These traders have expressed their appreciation for the significant improvement in sales during the event, thereby boosting the local economy.

The competition showcases the spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and community engagement, bringing residents together for a common cause. Hon. Alowonle expressed his gratitude to everyone who has been making the competition possible.

There were some notable personalities in attendance, including Hon Alimi Nurudeen Alowonle, the Councillor representing Ward C3 (Offin / Bayeku / Oreta). We also had Hon Oke Raheem Alade, an APC chieftaincy from Ward C3, and Chief Mojeed Oke Olomo, the Otunba of Offin. Prince Wasiu Alimi, the Sports Director 1, Mr. Emmanuel Erinfolamin (Olulanu), the Sports Director 2, among others.
