Hon. Salau Rukayat (Ajibike), the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in Ikorodu West LCDA organised “One Day Sensitization and Distribution of Sanitary Pads,” with theme focused on advocating against negligence and child abuse among teenagers, representative from each secondary school in Ikorodu Division were represented.

Hon. Salau Rukayat took the opportunity to inspire and encourage the young girls. She urged them to be self-disciplined and to become excellent ambassadors for themselves, their schools, and society as a whole. It’s incredibly important for them to uphold strong values and make positive contributions in their communities.

Furthermore, Hon. Salau Rukayat provided valuable advice on the proper hygienic process of using sanitary pads. Menstrual hygiene is something every young girl should understand and feel confident about in order to maintain their well-being.

Hon. Salau Rukayat also spoke about significance of speaking up when they witness something that’s not right happening to them. She encouraged them not to let anyone of a different gender bully them or force them into doing something they’re not comfortable with. It’s empowering for them to stand up for themselves and fight against any injustices they might face.

Popular Nollywood actress Mrs. Remi Oshodi, also known as Remi Surutu, made a special appearance that left the girls thrilled. Her presence added an extra spark to the atmosphere as the young girls had the opportunity to interact with a well-known figure in the entertainment industry.

Mrs. Remi Oshodi took the stage and delivered an inspiring speech, urging the girls to prioritize their education and work hard towards achieving their dreams. She emphasized that by dedicating themselves to their studies, they would unlock the potential to reach great heights in any profession they choose to pursue in the future.

The girls were captivated by Mrs. Remi Oshodi’s encouraging words and her personal journey in the entertainment industry. Her success story served as an inspiration for the young girls, encouraging them to dream big and pursue their passions with dedication and resilience.

Damilola Obayomi the progmmme officer of Verykeen humanitarian empowerment initiative, delivered a lecture on TGBV (Technology Gender Based Violence). She educate the girls about the importance of understanding and addressing gender-based violence that occurs in the technological realm.

During the lecture, Obayomi Damilola emphasized the significance of recognizing and combating TGBV. She discussed how technology can be misused to perpetrate violence, exploitation, and harassment based on gender.

Mrs. Sola Asekun-Amusu Sheds Light on Gender-Based Violence and Child Abuse for Young Girls in Our Society, she educate them on these critical issues.

In attendance; Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola Director General iCare Foundation, Representative from Lagos Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, HOD Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Ikorodu West LCDA, representative of Government College Principal, which they are the host for the Sensitisation.
