… As Ladega zone of NASHCO represented by Oyewoga Mariam, emerges winner for the second time in a row

As part of the ongoing Ikorodu Oga festival, IKODASS in conjunction with One six sixteen impressions organised Ikorodu oga Hair and Fashion Showcase 5th Edition, it was a colourful event that featured all kinds of Creativity in a grand style from the National Association of Hairdresser and Cosmetologist (NASHCO) and National Union of Tailor (NUT) Ikorodu Division, held at the Ikorodu town hall on Wednesday 15th 2023.

The event was an exemplary work of art that created an avenue for both NASHCO and NUT to showcase their artistic and esthetic designs blended with creativity that is beyond the ordinary.

Meanwhile, the yearly competition gives room to all participants to display their uniqueness in various ways to exhibit their sense of fashion meticulously in line with the latest trends in society. Fourteen contestants from the NASHCO while Eleven contestants contested in this year’s competition. Mr Tayo and Odesanya Adepoju Monsrat were the judges of the competition.

Nikoro Oluwaseyi Adekemi(Ijomu zone) – 2nd position
Adebayo Victoria Kehinde(Solomade zone) – 3rd position

National Union of Tailors(NUT) winners and runners-up.

Kewulere Kafayat Motunrayo (Olooto branch) – 1st position
Ogunwole Ayomide(Ikorodu Central branch) – 2nd position
Olumide Anibaba(Ikorodu Oga 1 branch) – 3rd position

The chairman of (IKODASS) Rotimi Erogbogbo, established that Ikorodu has become a hub for all SMEs to thrive, as you can see Ikorodu has class, and we have what it takes to meet the fashion world, he also affirmed that Ikorodu is the mountain point of all fashion. He believes if the tailors and the hairstylists are being encouraged by coming up with this kind of event to showcase their designs, they will create more wealth, feed their families and increase the IGR of Lagos State.

“Fashion is not just about clothing, it’s about identity and our cultural heritage,” said by Oluwadamilola Edward Director, One Six Sixteen Impressions. She also highlighted the impact the event would have on both the NASHCO and NUT, as it is used to project their expertise for them to make use of their creativity, and for people to know that we have creatives who are exceptional in our, community, she congratulates all the contestants and also appeal to them to make use of this opportunity to get massive publicity and also make use of all social media platforms for their business.

In attendance was the Oba Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Ayangburen in Council, Members of Ikodass, and stakeholders from the fashion industry.
