In Commemoration of the Isiu Eweye Day 2023, Oba Eweye Footbal competition commenced on Saturday, which is put together to spot the talented youths in the community.

The event was graced by HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji the Eweye of Isiwu who was ably represented by the Araba of Isiu Chief IFagbemi brahimoh, and Alapini of Isiu Chief Rashidi Banwo, the commentary desk was manned by a professional sport commentator and radio presenter Milobaby of 106.1 Ikd fm, the large audience was well entertained by the fun filled commentary session, the two contesting teams were the defending champions GLORY FC and OMIGO FC who did not find it funny meeting the defending champion in thier first appearance, the game ended with a 5 – 1 win in favour of GLORY FC.

The tournament shall continue as 31 other matches are still expected to be played before the final match would be played on the 10th of December 2023.

Asiwaju Wale Ogunbela, speaking on behalf of the ISEDASS Sports committee 2023, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman of ISEDASS, the Planning Committee chairman, and the Finance committee for their unwavering support in ensuring a successful kickoff match. Their dedication and commitment played a vital role in making the event a resounding success.

In a thrilling announcement, Hon. Asiwaju Wale Ogunbela revealed that two teams out of the registered participants have been selected to represent ISEDASS in the highly anticipated MTN Football competition. The registration forms for the teams were generously obtained through the support of the Ikorodu North LCDA Chairman.

The selected teams now have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete against other talented teams in the MTN Football competition. The stakes are high, as the winners will not only claim the prestigious title but also enjoy exciting rewards. The overall winner will be awarded a cash prize of #5m and a remarkable tour to South Africa.

Hon. Asiwaju Wale Ogunbela emphasized that this is just the beginning, as more exciting developments are expected to unfold throughout the course of the tournament. The ISEDASS Sports committee is dedicated to providing a platform for talented athletes to shine and achieve their dreams.

Jumoke Okuyiga, the Coordinator of Ankara sales, the IYDM chairman Comrade Wasiu Raji and his members.
