
Under the leadership of Hon. Sesan Olowa, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, and in collaboration with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board and other partners, a crucial initiative is set to begin in the community from 30th of October to 3rd of November 2023, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm daily.
The Ibeju-Lekki LG is gearing up to commence the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) immunization program, aimed at safeguarding the health and well-being of its residents target; Girls between 9-14 years old.
The Human Papilloma Virus is a common sexually transmitted infection that can lead to various types of cancers, including cervical cancer. Recognizing the importance of prevention and early intervention, the Ibeju-Lekki LG, under the guidance of Hon. Sesan Olowa, has taken proactive steps to protect the community from this potentially life-threatening virus.
Through this immunization program, individuals, particularly young girls, will receive the HPV vaccine, which has been proven to be highly effective in preventing HPV-related diseases. By providing access to this vaccine, the Ibeju-Lekki LG aims to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer and promote overall health and well-being among its residents.
