In his continued determination to bring good governance closer to his people, the Mayor of Isolo Local Council Development Area, Otunba Adebayo Olasoju’s vision of making Isolo an enviable community with world-class socio-economic infrastructure and facilities to meet the needs and aspirations of the people for good governance to thrive has continued to gain the attention of the grassroots government with the unprecedented level at which vision is converted into reality hovering around the critical sectors at the grassroots.

Two years later, the testimonies of his vision are well evident in the council area with the rapid transformation his purpose-driven leadership has birthed in making the council area better for it.

Upon his assuming office, Olasoju delay no further before he starts unveiling his strategic framework cum lofty policies for the development of the council area among which is the health sector.

He made it clear from inception that the welfare and healthy living of the residents is very crucial and germane to the realization of his envisioned greater and flourishing Isolo LCDA as embedded in his Social Contract with the people christened ” TowardstheIsoloofourdreams”.


In revitalizing the health sector of the Council with a focus on the primary health centres under the purview of the local government, massive rehabilitation was carried out coupled with equipping the centres with necessary facilities needed for effective and maximal delivery in the pursuit of expanding the quality of the health care system at the grassroots level.

Not limited to this, different health programs and medical outreach were embarked on in expanding the capacity and access to quality health delivery, topping the list is the Monthly Care for the Elderly which features free medical diagnosis and medication for various ailments which include, Arthritis, Dental issue, Cervical cancer and Hypertension among others. Other health programs and projects that have been undertaken in the area include; 1. the Relaunch JIGI Bola which covered different medical issues with over 2,000 attendants

2. Partnership with Bruderhilife Germany (NGO) to support pregnant women

3. Facilitation of the launching of Lagos State Government’s Mother, Infant, and Child Development (MICHD) and other medical outreach carried out in the council.

4. Regular health program for Pregnant and nursing mothers

Recently, the council authority carried out a robust medical outreach to commemorate the 2nd Anniversary of the Olasoju-led administration in office with over 2000 residents given treatment and diagnoses with free medication for them on different aliments.

The stride achieved in the area of healthcare delivery is due to the fact that different diagnoses go hand in hand with medication that will last the patients long while complex health issues are referred to the General Hospital with the council authority responsible for the financial commitment.

There is no doubt that the administration of Otunba Adebayo Olasoju is rebuilding back t uh the confidence and trust of the people back in grassroots governance with the indelible impact made towards achieving the Isolo of our dreams as envisioned.
