The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS JCC Lagos), under the dynamic leadership of COMR.. ALIMI LEKAN IDRIS, held a crucial meeting with the management and student representatives of Lagos State College of Nursing Igando to formalize the establishment of a Student Union.

The purpose of this meeting is to ensure proper conformation and establishment of a student union at Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando, in accordance with the principles and guidelines set forth by both the institution and NANS JCC Lagos State as We strongly believe that the formation of a student union will greatly benefit the students by providing a platform for representation, advocacy, and collaboration.

In this meeting, Comr. Alimi Lekan Idris, expressed his total commitment to ensuring the formation of this union, and while at it he mentioned that ‘This is an era of Scientific Aluta’, and everything must be done in an uncluttered manner.
He further emphasized the importance of the Student union and how benignant it is to have a student body that allows them to actively participate in the decision-making processes that affect their academic and extracurricular activities.

In conclusion, Following a constructive dialogue, the Chairman was able to convince the Management of the school about the urgency and importance of this Student union and an accord was reached.
The school Management has now announced that the first ever Student Union election will be held on the 12th of October in the School complex.

The NANS JCC Lagos State however is committed to supporting and overseeing this process to ensure its transparency, fairness, and adherence to democratic principles.
The NANS Lagos State executives also discussed their planned programs for the administrative year, which include organizing a security summit to address the safety concerns of students, conducting a campus tour and mentorship program to engage with students from different institutions, hosting an annual students’ leadership retreat to enhance leadership skills, and implementing a “library in a box” initiative to improve access to educational resources. They also emphasized their commitment to assisting students in acquiring certification beyond their formal education.

As always NANS JCC LAGOS AXIS under the Leadership of COMR. ALIMI LEKAN IDRIS is dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of Nigerian students in tertiary institutions across the state and will continue to ensure proper student representation and engagements in various educational institutions.
