In continuation of the distribution of the food palliatives by Hon. Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, earlier today he distributed 5000 food packs to the residents of Ikate, Itire, and Ijesha in Itire-Ikate LCDA.
Hon. Ahmed Apatira, addressed the hardships faced by the citizens due to the removal of subsidy In response, the Government initiated a continuous palliative initiative to alleviate hunger and support the community.
The Chairman said the food palliatives were distributed to the people of Itire, Ijesha, and Ikate. The food items included rice, beans, garri, groundnut oil, and one kilogram of meat. The target was to provide these items to five thousand households. The Chairman emphasized that the distribution was not politically motivated but aimed at benefiting all citizens, regardless of their political party, religion, or ethnic group.
In addition to the food palliatives, Hon. Apatira also provided transportation assistance to the citizens. Buses were made available to transport people from Ijesha to Ojuelegba at a nominal fee of #100. This initiative aimed to ease the burden of transportation costs for the citizens.

Education was not overlooked in the Chairman’s initiatives, He said Scholarship will be provided for indigent students in higher institutions within Itire-Ikate LCDA. This move demonstrated the Chairman’s commitment to empowering the youth and ensuring that education remains accessible to all.
Market women were also included in the Chairman’s plans, Cash assistance ranging from #50,000 to #100,000 would be given to them based on their sales. This support aimed to uplift the market women and contribute to their economic well-being.
Hon. Apatira urged the citizens of Itire-Ikate to remain patient and prayerful as the administration continues to work towards their welfare and development.
