… Aishat Awofeso was awarded with 1 million naira cash prize

Hon. Richard Kasunmu Deputy Majority Leader Lagos State House of Assembly won Legislator of the year Award, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada receive Face of Kosofe, Mayor Dele Oshinowo received Young and Influential (Kosofe LGA), Hon Razaq Ibrahim Olamilekan (Chief Henry Ajomale Project Award – Executive Chairman of the Year, Lagos State), Aishat Awofeso from Air force Secondary School Made 9 A’s Waec May/June 2023 at the student of the year category, others emerges as winners at the 2023 Accolades Award.

Aishat Awofeso was awarded with 1200 dollars cash prize sponsored by Dr. Lawal Bakare and Dr. Yinka Alausa CEO Alausa foundation while Hon. Richard Kasunmu Deputy Majority Leader Lagos State House of Assembly sum it up to One million naira.

The founder of the Accolades Award, Gbenga Owoyele popularly known as Charisma, shared in an interview that the 2023 award ceremony celebrated community heroes who have made positive contributions to their immediate communities by giving back to the less privileged. He emphasized that these individuals, through the influence they have gathered, have been able to make a difference in employment, connections, and the overall well-being of people.

Owoyele also highlighted the recognition of political representatives in their efforts to elevate their regions and local governments. Their hard work and dedication to their communities were celebrated as Lagos community heroes.

The award segments vary across Nigeria, with awardees being randomly nominated by people living in their respective communities. Nominations also come from alumni of the award. After the nominations, rigorous interviews were conducted to ensure the deserving nature of the nominees. Finally, a poll was conducted to verify the worthiness of the nominees, ensuring fairness and transparency in the selection process.

Balikis Owoyele, speaking about the initiative, expressed how the Accolades Award has encouraged many people to give back to their communities. Since the first edition, people have approached the organizers, asking how they can become recipients of the award.

“They were advised to do notable things for their communities and its people. This has helped shift people’s attitudes and inspired them to become potential awardees.”

Alhaji Azeez Yusuf(Ninolowo) – Face of Agege, Business Person of the Year, Ikorodu LGA:
Sunkanmi Olajide, CEO Fort Excel Place, Mrs Olasumbo Shafe Business person of the year Kosofe among others.

Rep. Babajide Obanikoro, Dr. Muritala Seriki APC Youth Leader Lagos also joined friends and well wishers at the event.
