
The Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA Legislative Arm celebrated the remarkable academic achievements of two indigent students earlier today at the hallowed chamber, who topped their respective Departments from Lagos State University. Sulaimon Halimah, with a remarkable 4.68 CGPA in Microbiology, and Romoke Ogunlana, who excelled in Educational Management with a CGPA of 4.52, were recognized as the best graduating students from the local government.
Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, the council leader of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, expressed his pride in the achievements of these outstanding students. In an interview, he emphasized the importance of supporting and appreciating such ambassadors of the community.
He stated that this event serves as an encouragement for other students to strive for academic excellence and reinforces the commitment of the local government representatives to celebrate exceptional achievements.
Hon. Basirat Adetutu Banjoko, Council Deputy Leader of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, praised the outstanding achievements of these girls, stating that they have made the entire female gender proud. She highlighted the challenges young girls and boys face due to social pressures and commended their ability to rise above them. “Their achievements are truly worth celebrating,” she added.
Hon. Basirat Banjoko also encouraged other students to remain steadfast in their pursuits, maintain focus, and find solace in their faith. She emphasized the importance of making God their abode.
Hon. MKO Arowolo the Majority Leader, Hon. Anifowoshe Deputy Majority Leader, and Hon. Hakeem Sholawon the Chief whip, also applauded the amazing achievements of the two young girls, Sulaimon Halimah and Romoke Ogunlana.
Alhaji Sulaimon Ayokunle, the father of Halimah Sulaimon, expressed gratitude towards the legislative arm of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, He praised their efforts in recognizing and celebrating great achievements, promising continued support and encouragement for their children both spiritually and financially.
Romoke Ogunlana, one of the celebrated beneficiaries, expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the Legislative Arm and Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA for their support. In a recent statement, she urged students in schools to prioritize their studies and stay focused. “Having a drive is crucial,” she emphasized, “it encourages students to persevere even when they feel like giving up.”
