
Hon. Babayemisi Kehinde Fakunmoju was inaugurated as the Chairman of Lapega/Ilado Estate Community Development Association (CDA) Earlier today Saturday, 26th of August, Distinguished guests, religious and traditional leaders graced the event, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the community.
Hon. Babayemisi Fakunmoju expressed his gratitude to the CDC Chairman, Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, and the entire CDC executives for their support. He also acknowledged the electoral committee for conducting a fair election that reflected the trust and confidence of the residents.
In his inaugural address, Hon. Fakunmoju pledged his loyalty, commitment, and dedication to serving the community. He recognized the contributions of the immediate past Chairman, Pastor Henry Oluwadipe, under whom he served as the pioneer Secretary of the CDA.
The formation and registration of Lapega/Ilado CDA were initiated by the late Pa. Ayodele Debanke, with Mr. Shakiru Lasisi as the acting Vice Chairman, Chief Ahmed Ajisebutu as the PRO, and Hon. Babayemisi Kehinde Fakunmoju as the acting Secretary. An election was subsequently held, bringing in Pastor Henry Oluwadipe as the immediate past Chairman.
Notable accomplishments include opening a bank account with Wema Bank to prevent fraud, acquiring over 70 concrete poles and aluminum conductors, and purchasing a brand new 500KV transformer. The grading of major roads within the estate and the erection of gates at major entrances have improved the overall infrastructure.
Chairman Fakunmoju’s dedication to community development led to their election as an ex-officio member of the CDC Ikorodu North LCDA and as Chairman of United Joint CDAS Ward E2 Erikorodo Ikorodu North LCDA.
The CDA has also announced a 10-point action plan, emphasizing an all-inclusive administration, maintenance of internal roads, prompt electricity, hygienic environment, open-door policy, promotion of cultural heritage, and regular financial reports, seek advice from senior citizens, Security of lives and properties, Incorporate women and youth in their policy direction.
Chairman Fakunmoju’s inauguration marks a new era of community development and service to humanity.
The CDC Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA Prince Niran Ogunbanwo charged the newly elected executives of Lapega/Ilado estate CDA to be exemplary leaders in the community. He emphasized the importance of their role in fostering unity, progress, and development.
Chairman Ogunbanwo also stressed the need for collaboration with Lawma officials to address the issue of waste management in the area. He urged the executives to work closely with Lawma to ensure the proper clearing of dirts and maintain a clean and hygienic environment for all residents.
