
In a remarkable move, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture, has generously provided six patrol boats to the Lagos Ministry of Agriculture. This initiative, which forms part of a broader project, aims to benefit the riverine and fishing communities across all coastal states.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed delegates, including the Chief of Naval Staff, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture representing the Minister of Agriculture, and the Deputy Chief of Staff representing Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Additionally, the event saw the presence of Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, General Manager of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), who was represented by Mr. Famuyiwa Ibrahim. Representatives from Akwa Ibom State, including the Commissioner for Finance and the Permanent Secretary of Agriculture, were also in attendance.

It is important to highlight that LASWA plays a crucial role as the water transportation regulator for the Lagos State Government, ensuring the safety and efficiency of water transportation services.
This significant donation of patrol boats showcases the unwavering commitment of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to uplift and support the riverine and fishing communities. It also underscores the harmonious collaboration between federal and state entities in promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development.
