… ATCIS Warn NCC on Sms,Data, Calls Hike & FG Should Put Smile To Masses has Bilesanmi did to Less Privileged in Lagos-Nigeria

Sequel to the proposed telecom tax tariff hike price in the country the National President of the Association of Telephone Cable Tv and Internet Subscribers of Nigeria (ATCIS), Hon Prince Sina Bilesanmi an outspoken leader of the Telecom Subscriber, Hon. Sina Bilesanmi aka Ojueko has disclosed his intention to rather put a smile on the faces of all his members who are automatically telephone subscribers in the country. In a recent development and discussion with press release over the week day in Lagos the ever-joyful and law abiding ATCIS National President Bilesanmi revealed he is going to roll-out Incentives to all subscribers on his birthday & ATCIS Founder Day 2nd August, 2023.

Bilesanmi emphasises that the association is not really fighting the regulatory body or the federal government of Nigeria. His stand is based on equity, justice and professionalism. He said: “Federal Government should not see us as enemies. Our advocacy group is there to assist the government, we are just like an eagle eye, the policy makers are there to defend the government. We are not fighting the government but begging the current President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the regulatory body like NCC and NBC to reconsider their intention not to permit or allow telcos body to hike SMS, DATA & CALLS in this unpalatable economic dwindling’s without carrying ATCIS along as Telecom Subscriber advocacy body.

Some government authorities and other organisations are always in tandem with the associations aims and objectives as the group always clamouring for nor fighting them in any way but they are clamouring for the welfare of its members in which incidentally they are inclusive. Anyone using phones through the telecom gadgets are automatically members of ATCIS. The only step forward is to upgrade to a financially contributory members level being individual and Corporate in order to earn more members benefits.

Bilesanmi said he is never acted as a selfish leader, as he has the mind of God in leading the group as a Nigerian citizens too, passionate about the welfare of the common man explained to this medium that he understands what many citizens pass through during the last petrol scarcity, the Emefiele saga tagged as: “#Ëmefielemania” of cash crunch and devaluation that has brought hardship on almost all of ATCIS members who are more than 223 million Nigerians using telecom and others who are financial contributing members, registered by Nigerian law under CAC.

On the modalities to disburse the palliatives, Bilesanmi disclosed that as a man of the people, for the masses he has no other choice to do anything against the wish of his followers and stakeholders than to follow their wish in distribution and location of the venue for the celebration. What he intends to do is to make sure that members are happy during the celebration of his birthday and telecom Subscriber Founder Day this year. How can he be rejoicing if some families are not able to eat at least two out of the three-square meals needed for the day, Bilesanmi queried?

He commended the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) led by its Executive Chairman, Prof. Umar Garba Danbata for sustaining the vision and mission of the agency. Bilesanmi stated on Wednesday 2nd August, 2023 that the efforts on NCC have been yielding greater results over the years and wish that this one should not be an exception as this current scenario is equally gamine to ATCIS which could translate the betterment of Nigerian citizenry if well managed by all authorities and stakeholder and NBC should stand fix on Pay As You Go by Cable Tv Operators in Nigeria, we couldn’t see or feel any impact of NBC yet President Tinubu & Senate President should help Nigerian ATCIS members out because we believe on dialogue but if authorities failed to respect that violence can come in.

Earlier he has declared that the FG position on the telecom tax should be neutral. That’s why he is begging the Tinubu led FG to be compassionate enough on the telecom subscribers and never consider and form of increment as the current situation is unbearable for ATCIS members subscriber already because any increment at this time will be tantamount to suicidal mission to the public who are mostly the telecom subscribers. He suggests if at all there will be any consideration for an increment, the proposed 5% is on the high side something like ?% can be debated at stakeholder’s forum whereby every Subscriber’s shall have access to air their view.

He laments over the behavioural pattern of the association called ALCON that supervises the activities of major Networks in the country like the MTN, Glo, 9mobile, Airtel and others led by its National President Mr. Gbenga Adebayo and Head of Operations, Mr. Gbolahan Awonuga who had ignored the ATCIS invitations for more than 10 times. Bilesanmi said he had copies of letters sent to their offices at intervals and which they refused to reciprocate.” Bilesanmi wonders why this manoeuvring in simple civil matters.

According to Bilesanmi, every August 2nd, 2023 would rather be known as a peaceful day. Incidentally the day happens to be the commencement of the Nigerian Labour Congress well announced warning strike despite the government position on the protest. But ATCIS Bilesanmi wishes to make the day a memorable day for the association telecom Subscriber’s celebration Founder Day with members as he will mark if Fun Day to celebrate beggars in Ketu, Agege & Kano part of Lagos that cost us N450,000:00 we thank GOD for this year ATCIS Founder Day/ Birthday Celebration.

In his long agitation to the previous government the ATCIS President stated that the body had proposed to the federal government to compel a sim card manufacturer to produce in Lagos, Nigeria. The Nigerian government should embrace productivity, manufacturing and self-reliance. “As we speak, they are on Oregun Road in Lagos manufacturing sim cards. It’s usually like that, usage of such new technology could be costly, but as time goes on it would come down,” he said.

Bilesanmi used the opportunity to applaud this new President for hitting the ground running on many giant strides he has been doing since taking mantle of leadership since inception on Monday 29th May, 2023 which is literarily a workaholic day in Nigeria philosophy, which translate to effectiveness, better performance fortitude and progress. He salutes the initiatives of the Tinubu government right from day one as he removed the ancient Petrol subsidy which innovative in governance and a consummate public figure.

Prince Sina Bilesanmi said his association called ATCIS also comprises media and other sectors of the public especially some media antagonising the campaign for fair price they too are members of ATCIS thought they follow ALCON they are incidentally ATCIS membership list in as much they use the devices in communication. We have over 223 million subscribers nationwide. ATICS is not egocentric at all in all their dealings only for ALCON to neglect the moves for reconciliation because they did not always carry them along in consultations. ATCIS is there to protect the image and to defend the rights of subscribers and also to promote the telecoms industry and market them based on our huge membership base,” he said.

Bilesanmi equally wants ALCON to be humane and require the authority to rather do better and consider their policy concerning the end users and subscribers. He said they are there to protect the subscribers’ interest also. He said that population of Nigeria over 200 million subscribers in the geo-political zones of the country, the market is there for telecoms to strive and not necessarily hike prices to make money. They should just do business in a way that consumers will be peaceful and comfortable as they make their profit systematically. He said telecoms industry contributes about N9.3 trillion in the Nigerian market considering the money people spend in purchasing airtime and data, SMS everyday.

Bilesanmi disclosed that ATCIS sources of funding is not far-fetched at all, its membership is to see to its membership’s progress through self-contributions,loan and donations to the association accounts. Mostly the contributions are monthly collated financial transaction well managed by qualified professionals who are equally financial contributors in the ATCIS financial department as it embrace’s transparent documentation and accountability.
