The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has issued a warning against unauthorised football competitions, saying that any player or official involved in such competitions will not be allowed to participate in any football competition organised or endorsed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the LSFA, nor play in any of the state or national football teams.
In a statement released by the Secretary of the LSFA, Akeem Rabiu-Okikioposu, the association called on the public, players, and parents, as well as facility managers, academic institutions and corporate organisations to join in ridding football of fraudsters who parade themselves as football competition organisers.

This comes after the LSFA issued a disclaimer over the “OBA AKRAN CUP” football championship, stating that it had not received any request for a private championship in the Badagry Divisional Football axis, nor had it sanctioned or endorsed any football competition in that regard.
LSFA is still in the process of planning and putting in place structures that will ensure an effective and efficient administration of football in the state.
The association will seek the approval of the revered Kabiyesi’s before any championship named in their honour would be organised.
The unsuspecting public, players, and parents, as well as facility managers, academic institutions and corporate organisations are enjoined to join with LSFA to rid football of fraudsters who parade themselves as football competition organisers.
